Not to buy stuff online from companies that think the North doesn't exist?

I'm looking at you Uniqlo - loads of branches in London and Home Counties and nothing at all in the rest of the country. Is our money not good enough?
Today I have had an e-mail from Rituals inviting me to attend a special evening. Very nice but I'm in Leeds and my closest branch is over 100 miles away in Leicester whereas there are 11 branches in London. I'm not likely to buy smelly stuff online without being able to sniff it beforehand so what's the point?

@Fabellini another highlander here! (Late to the thread Blush) I would be up for an eastgate meetup! (Although coffee blend near to the cancer research shop do a good coffee and a mean bagel!)

Spare a thought for those of us who live overseas and have none of these shops. We do have a shop that sells Tesco's things and another that sells Waitrose things but normally rejected stuff. So we get chocolate advent calendars in January etc which reminds me they might have Easter eggs this week

There has been rumours for a while that Booths in Lytham is closing down. They built one a few miles away in St Annes a few years ago. Funnily the Lytham one always seems busier than the St Annes one even tho SA store is right next to a large new housing estate with no other shops close by for competition

BikeRunSki

Thirsk, Helmsley, Northallerton - it's all the same in my special world of geographical fuckwittedness.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/04/2018 19:01

. I'm surprised there isn't a Booths in Northallerton yet but I guess now isn't a good time for expansion.

I'm not, unless Lewis&Cooper has gone downhill since I lived over that way.

@MorningsEleven that cake sounds divine! I used to love the shortbread bats covered in chocolate with smarties for eyes that they used to do at Halloween.

The only Booths I've been to was near Settle I think? I was visiting a Southerner-now Northern friend who explained that it is Northern Waitrose and said that Waitrose stops at Leeds. Leeds is As North As Waitrose Gets.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/04/2018 00:36

Leeds is As North As Waitrose Gets.

They've spread up a bit, even a few in Scotland now - I posted a link to their map up thread.

BarbaraofSevillle · 07/04/2018 04:35

I must have imagined the ones in Harrogate, Ponteland and Hexham then.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 07/04/2018 07:17

Her words not mine. I looked it up as I was surprised at that and have found branches up country. Should have added that as a disclaimer.

BikeRunSki · 07/04/2018 15:38

I have just been to a Waitrose at Gretna services, and there is also a big one in Edinburgh.

MorningsEleven · 07/04/2018 17:00

there is also a big one in Edinburgh

There's 2 in Edinburgh - Morningside and Stockbridge - and Waitrose is also in Glasgow. Don't think they've hit the Central Belt.

MrsJayy · 07/04/2018 21:14

There is Waitrose in Stirling it opened 2/3 years ago I go for theessentials liquid soap its a pound and i feel right posh buying it 😃

MorningsEleven · 08/04/2018 00:42

MrsJayy · 08/04/2018 13:29
