Used AIBU for traffic. Being on maternity then going back to work part time means I'm trying to cut costs. One being my make up bag as I cant afford to be spending £28 on foundation anymore. Up to now I have found miss sporty mascara for £4 to be just as good as other mascaras. AIBU to ask for your beauty bargains? And what you previously used before? Really want to find a cheaper foundation currently using Clinique even better which I really like it's just too expensive for me now.

Superdrug vitamin E hot cloth cleanser is the absolute business, and lasts for ages. I also like their B range, especially the day creams - they're about seven quid but usually seem to have it on BOGOF. And while you're in Superdrug, MUA for make-up.

When I'm broke, I use Tesco value baby lotion - I think it's 29p for 500ml. It's not luxurious, but it does the job.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 29/03/2018 22:07

Oh and Eau de Nude perfume at Next is like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle if you need a budget perfume.

Avon epic lipstick is supposed to be fab and I'm going to try that soon.

AgnesBrownsCat · 29/03/2018 22:09

Superdrug’s range .

Lauraandbump2 · 29/03/2018 22:17

I second Superdrugs Vitamin E got cloth cleanser. Used to purchase the Liz Earle one but this is just as good and saves so much money.

Swapped my claims moisturiser for Nivea soft and it does everything the Clarins one was doing.

Collection 2000 liquid concealer better than YSL Touche' Eclat, better coverage and ridiculous saving where money concerned.

Hot cloth cleanser*

Clarins*

Stupid phone Hmm

bimbobaggins · 29/03/2018 22:22

I use the asda n spa hot cloth cleanser, hadn’t used one before so nothing to compare it to but I’ll definitely try the Superdrug one next time

icelolly99 · 29/03/2018 22:28

Lidl's own brand Night Cream Q10.

Jackreacherswife · 30/03/2018 08:33

Primark eyeliner the one that's like a felt tip. It's amazing, lasts all day (and night if you come home drunk and don't take it off) stays in place and doesn't fade, think it costs £1.50

Namethecat · 30/03/2018 08:44

I'm another fan of Asda hot cloth cleanser, as good as Liz Earle. I bought a pack of 12 muslim squares off Amazon very cheaply ( took ages to arrive) so I have a clean one every day.

Wilko do a budget range of make up, called Essence I think, and some of it is very good. Their mascara is very good and only about £3.50. Boots no17 hd mascara, about £6, is very good too.
I've never found a perfect foundation as I have tricky skin but Rimmel 24hr foundation is one of the best I've found.
Rimmel eyebrow pencils £3 are excellent.
Avon also do very good make up too worth a look

PrimalLass · 30/03/2018 10:46

Nivea Soft face cream (white tub). I've gone from £30 Clinique moisturiser to this. My face craves it Grin

Doingreat · 30/03/2018 11:19

I love this thread. I found an aspirin face mask you can make. Meant to be great for acne and brightening the face. You can Google for recipes or use this basic one I have here.
Crush 4 or 5 aspirin tablets and add few drops of water to make a paste. Then add honey/yougurt if wish to make it moisturising and apply to face for 10 minutes.

Aspirin can be bought for 30p or so for a packet from wilko or superdrug. The cheap ones work better for this face mask as the expensive ones are coated and don't work as well

Violetroselily · 30/03/2018 11:42

I’ve loved everything from Make Up Revolution. Eyeshadows and blushers are particularly excellent.

Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation is decent, as is their stay matte powder.

Also check out the Style and Beauty board if you’re not a usual visitor there, there’s often very helpful threads about high street dupes

Bourjois healthy mix foundation (about £10) is meant to be really good. Not to be confused with healthy mix serum foundation.
Also MUA lipsticks at superdrug for £1

Doingreat · 09/04/2018 10:03

Also I'm currently using superdrug baby lotion as a body lotion and it has really sorted out my cracked heels. 89p.
I read in a Sunday supplement that baby lotion can also be used as a makeup remover.

Am still on the hunt for a foundation that doesn't irritate my skin- keeping an eye on this thread

MamaLupine · 09/04/2018 10:46

I've been using a Lancome foundation for a few weeks. It's ok, but not worth the money and I wouldn't buy it again. On a whim I picked up Max Factor Blur and Nourish foundation and it's far superior to the Lancome one. I've had compliments on my skin a few times since I've used it!

Dontwantanicknamethanks · 17/04/2018 16:38

The Ordinary serum foundation is lovely and it's only about £6ish. Lidl hot cloth cleanser is really nice.
