For me, the Parkland children being belittled and abused in so many ways is utterly heartbreaking to witness. But they have been more adult than the adults in their response. They have shown us what faith means, and bravery. POTUS? He is made much, much smaller.

Media literacy lesson of the day! These are two headlines (WaPo left, NBC right) on the same meeting and decision.

Dangerously confused message on Syria.

"He wasn’t thrilled about it, to say the least," a senior administration official said.

thehill.com/homenews/administration/381552-madeleine-albright-trump-is-the-most-anti-democratic-president-in

'Albright said that Trump’s attacks on the judicial system, the electoral process and minorities as well as his attempts to undermine the press show that his instincts aren’t democratic.

“I've picked up that phrase ‘see something, say something,’ and I am seeing some things that are the kinds of things that we have seen in other countries, and so I am saying not only should we say something, but we have to do something about it,” Albright said.'

I watched a John Oliver episode on MLMs and saw Madeline Albright is (or maybe was) involved in Herbalife Shock Can’t look at her in quite the same way

Senate Investigators Interview A Former Trump Business Associate Who Tried To Get Trump A Deal In Moscow

Sater is one of the most mysterious figures in the Trump-Russia investigation, and has spoken previously to Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the House Intelligence Committee.

Likewise, Pain. He can't really criticise her for that, though. Not with Betsy in his cabinet. Wink

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 04/04/2018 16:34

It’s so bizarre!

cozietoesie · 04/04/2018 16:45

Sorry. I should never say 'can't' with 45. He doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word 'inconsistent'. Sad

lionheart · 04/04/2018 17:28

Herbalife ???!

cozietoesie · 04/04/2018 17:29

Seems so.

cozietoesie · 04/04/2018 17:35

There's money involved. Wink

lionheart · 04/04/2018 18:50

Yes, but she probably had quite a lot already.

lionheart · 04/04/2018 18:54

Dots. I remember this--it was not exactly subtle.

edition.cnn.com/2018/04/04/politics/roger-stone-julian-assange-email-wikileaks/index.html

'Roger Stone appeared on the InfoWars radio show the same day he sent an email claiming he dined with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange -- and he predicted "devastating" upcoming disclosures about the Clinton Foundation.'

www.newyorker.com/news/daily-comment/the-department-of-justice-thinks-that-collusion-is-a-crime

'Nevertheless, Mueller now has the authority, and the legal theory, to bring criminal charges for collusion. The unanswered question is whether he has American defendants, too.'

lionheart · 04/04/2018 19:03

This rather cheered me, as did the tweets that go with it.

'Wondering what latest Mueller revelations mean for Trump? Gave @JRubinBlogger my take: both “subject” designation & impending report signal great danger. Dowd was right to flee. Read why here:

'On @CNN At about 215 PM EDT will be joining @BrookeBCNN @CNNnewsroom to share my analysis of the Mueller revelations. In sum: his lawyer Dowd was right to run like hell. I’ve only ever seen John bolt from a client like that once before (also involved Mueller).'

lionheart · 04/04/2018 19:04

'This in turn brings us back to the president’s greatest peril — impeachment proceedings, which may include subpoenas for financial records (e.g., tax returns) he has insisted remain secret. Republicans have shown themselves entirely unwilling to confront Trump on the smallest matters (e.g., foreign emoluments) and so are highly unlikely to take impeachment seriously. By contrast, Democrats, if they get a damning report from Mueller and win the House, will almost certainly open hearings at least to determine if impeachment is appropriate. There should be no doubt that the midterms may turn on a single question: Should Trump be held accountable if he obstructed justice?'
