For me, the Parkland children being belittled and abused in so many ways is utterly heartbreaking to witness. But they have been more adult than the adults in their response. They have shown us what faith means, and bravery. POTUS? He is made much, much smaller.

Donald Trump has some pretty close connections to Cambridge Analytica. We just filed a criminal complaint against the group last week.

www.salon.com/2018/04/02/is-trump-the-worst-president-in-american-history_partner/#.WsIkYCwTVTc.twitter

'America has had its share of crooks (Warren G. Harding, Richard Nixon), bigots (Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan), and incompetents (Andrew Johnson, George W. Bush). But never before Donald Trump have we had a president who combined all these nefarious qualities.'

lionheart · 02/04/2018 23:21

There are a lot of Kushners.

cozietoesie · 02/04/2018 23:33

Those polls don't surprise me.

cozietoesie · 02/04/2018 23:34

And following on from the discussion last night.

Trump and Wall Street

'The Department of Justice has announced it will evaluate immigration judges on how many cases they close and how fast they hear cases, a move that judges and advocates criticize as potentially jeopardizing the courts' fairness and perhaps leading to far more deportations.'

cozietoesie · 03/04/2018 01:51

They voted - many of them - for him, lion. They're invested in him. Besides which, he's the President and many of them have seen him on telly. Of course they'll believe him.

Addison Mitchell is another matter altogether. They rather dislike and distrust him. (And the rest of the GOP.)

If you don’t think we’ve arrived there yet, switch on the TV. We have.

News anchors looking into camera and reading a script handed down by a corporate overlord, words meant to obscure the truth not elucidate it, isn't journalism. It's propaganda. It's Orwellian. A slippery slope to how despots wrest power, silence dissent, and oppress the masses.

NO. We haven't arrived there yet. Smile

You all need to take your 10 minute + break. Wink

TheClaws · 03/04/2018 04:25

His supporters thinks it’s okay that he lies because:

  • Obama
  • Hillary
  • the Swamp makes it so difficult for him
  • he’s playing 3D chess; we just can’t keep up with his moves
  • he must have reasons
  • Obama
  • he’s extremely intelligent and so doesn’t consider his words lies but alternate reasoning
  • Hillary

You're tired, Claws. The real struggle is going to be over the next few months +. Take your break.Wink

The Obama alliteration was deliberate, cozie. Trump supporters are simply obsessed with him and tend to blame everything on him, Hillary or the Swamp. I’m good - I had a break over Easter and I take others when I need them. It can get a bit much at times Smile

Hello, I'm sorry, I'm being v hard of understanding at the moment - still confused about cozie's Merchant Seamen quote yesterday and this morning am failing to find any Obama-related alliteration from TheClaws.
Looking forward to our hols, Greek Orthodox Easter here we come! Shortly after our return, celebrating our wedding anniversary with the prize I won yesterday of tickets to "Spamalot" at our local Opera House.
(Trying hard to concentrate on good things as am completely banjaxed by that poll showing Trump's rating presently higher than Obama's was at the same time in his first term - when it's surely clear to everyone except the most deluded what a mess Trump is making of things. That quote from that link from lionheart sums it up for me, and bears repeating, I think, so here it is again: 'America has had its share of crooks (Warren G. Harding, Richard Nixon), bigots (Andrew Jackson, James Buchanan), and incompetents (Andrew Johnson, George W. Bush). But never before Donald Trump have we had a president who combined all these nefarious qualities.' Reaches for BP tablets again and tries to think of rainbow unicorns. No, actually, only Gin will do!)

cozietoesie · 03/04/2018 05:22

Keep thinking of the Midterms, Ouais.

Going by my Bellwether, men are pretty scunnered about the whole Daniels business. They seem to relate to 45 on this matter.

It's the economy, s......

ouais or repetition, even - that might have been a better word to use Smile
