Aibu to throw away the cake?

Half eaten cake and open packet of biscuits, leftover after visitors, Aibu to throw it all away just to stop us eating it? Hate having so much unhealthy stuff in the house

Nothing wrong with giving leftover away. At end of the day if people don’t want it they’ll just bin it or pass it along! No big deal...

Well of course nobody will want it if it's stale bin it in that case, or chuck it in a bird feeder.

But I didn't get the impression from the OP that it was stale.

Did the op say the cake was stale? I didn’t get that impression either.

This is what I don’t understand. I serve food that I am happy to have as leftovers because it is good food. I don’t serve guests “crap”, that’s not being a good host

It's no more wasteful to throw food away than to eat it when you don't want or need it (if only I could abide by this myself!).

If you going to do that then don't buy it all its such a waste there's starving people out there homeless people people that can bearly afford a food shop

I've thrown surplus cake/ biscuits away before when it's got to the stage of surplus calories and eating it mindlessly "just because it's there". If the pleasure of eating it is outweighed by the longer term consequences of feeling bloated or contributing to a spare inch on my waist that will get called to account at some point anyway, then it's not worth it.

Some cake would be worth it, but not all cakes are created equal
