Or maybe it's pancakes, or Yorkshire's for roast dinner. What do you think ?

I would have asked them why they needed so many! But that’s how we do things round here.

CannaeBeErsed · 28/03/2018 19:12

Reckon their mate is buying loads of eggs in another shop.

Cornettoninja · 28/03/2018 19:19

smart price mince and onions

That's got to be a kids party for burgers.

BarbaraofSevillle · 28/03/2018 19:24

Sometimes there's a boring answer. Maybe he has a cafe or bakery and really likes Aldi flour, which is probably cheaper than catering suppliers.

DP has worked as a runner in the music industry. He had to do things like buy 30 baguettes and 10 pints of cream, or go buy 30 drinks from Starbucks.

When I worked at Greggs we ran out of salad so I got sent to buy 20 iceberg lettuces and a load of other stuff from Morrisons over the road.

Butteredparsn1ps · 28/03/2018 19:26

Hadn't considered GBBO I remember reading that they do a lot of practice Grin

Well I’m just glad they’re bulk buying where it’s cheapest at Asda. People after my own heart.

RapunzelIsHere · 28/03/2018 19:26

Act Aldi*Grin

I'd put money on them being Scout Leaders Grin

bestbefore · 28/03/2018 19:53

I saw a chap the other week at Tesco literally filling the boot of his hatchback with value cornflake boxes...what on earth would that be for?

Unihorn · 28/03/2018 19:55

I saw someone fill a 7 seater car with Ferrero Rocher from Costco last Christmas. They had three of those massive trolleys full. It was insane.

bonnielies0verthe0cean · 28/03/2018 21:16

I once had to buy 600 oranges to make Christingles for church.

I got some weird looks in Sainsbury's.

DandelionAndBedrock · 28/03/2018 21:18

bestbefore Easter Nest crispy cakes?

Butteredparsn1ps · 28/03/2018 21:20

TBF I have done a few trolley loads of stuff for the PTA in the past. And even bought a glut if Pizzas for a DC Birthday party.

But nothing on this scale.

Maybe they are baking this weekend for some kind of charity event?

ProfessorPickles · 28/03/2018 21:23

I don't think it's possible to get through that amount of flour in one weekend Grin unless there's a group of them?!

But where's the eggs, butter and sugar!

So many questions

MamaWren · 28/03/2018 21:25

I think they're a teacher and they're going to give a bag to each student in their class and see who can keep it 'safe' and undamaged over the holidays.

earlybirdhasanap · 28/03/2018 21:25

I saw a woman at Aldi last week buy two trays (24 large cans) of sweetcorn. I couldn't for the life of me work out what you'd need that for.

Birdsgottafly · 28/03/2018 21:48

Some products are cheaper in Supermarkets than wholesalers. I've been involved with Cafes, Schools, Children's Centers, Care homes etc and we've done bulk buying at the Supermarket. The fast food place my DD works in, buys stuff from Aldi, on occasion.

Sweetcorn could be duck/chicken food, for days out. Its easier to keep invoices if you buy in one go. Its also easier to give each person one thing to buy.

My Sister's Church, that she volunteers at are doing special Easter tea parties and they are making Hot Cross Buns, Simnel Cake etc. They also give baked goods to the Homeless.

@earlybirdhasanap

Cure for constipation.

Redcrayons · 28/03/2018 22:48

Am I the only nosy bugger person who would ask what it's all for?
