Interested to read this in the Guardian today

Babaloo
Interestingly his is one of the few times the youtubers have been mentioned. I’m trying to understand why someone like her or the Irish family with the kids dont get the same level of criticism. They have an unbelievable following, upload videos every day and do a lot of adds all with their kids in them. I see the Irish family are on a feee cruise too

AdidasGirl · 25/03/2018 22:25

@allaboardtheallergybus A lot of her followers she has because of her friendship with Zoella.
There was a huge uproar about some Gleam gig they all did at Christmas time and was an utter shambles.Just like the £50 advent calendar.
She just totally ignored it.

FleaRiddenScruffBag · 25/03/2018 22:27

Allaboard and I am just hoping they are reading. Anyone who actively courts publicity and monetises young children for commercial purposes must surely expect scrutiny.

Mumofkids · 25/03/2018 22:28

@allaboardtheallergybus but as we frequently see, you completely misread the comments and interpret them in bizarre ways. Of course they read them, they thrive off it. I'm sure if people were actually mean (said personal things about looks appearance etc it would be different, but they don't) they have their egos soothed by fan girls and pay no heed. You should probably stop stressing yourself out and unfollow.

Mumofkids · 25/03/2018 22:30

Youtubers actually get really hideous comments on their vlogs. But YouTube is a completely different format to Instagram and this is about Instagram.

Fruitbowl2 · 25/03/2018 22:32

AND allergy MOD won't accept criticism on her BUSINESS IG.

ImTheMary · 25/03/2018 22:32

NotASingleDamnBiroInTheHouse Every post of yours is spot on! 👏🏼

Stellastartsitall · 25/03/2018 22:35

You know, it would have been really kind if mod teamed up with destinology holidays and did a giveaway for her followers. That would be so much more favourable and better PR for the company. But some people just like to keep the good stuff for themselves....

faceandpalm · 25/03/2018 22:36

@allaboardtheallergybus You’re right, sometimes it gets personal and that’s not fair. There’s mostly important debate though. I’m not sure why the Mean Girls reference keeps coming up - the same would happen to anyone who has a difference of opinion on their feeds, too. It’s ridiculous that we can’t have two opposing views on the same feed. As for how I live my life... I get the odd email ping through from Mumsnet to update me on the thread - sometimes I look, sometimes I don’t. I live my busy life perfectly well.

User80656448969 · 25/03/2018 22:43

Who are the Irish family? Who are all these people who get free holidays? It's astonishing, the sheer scale of it all.

Babaloo88 · 25/03/2018 22:51

I honestly don’t think mod would be someone to be willing to take her free holiday and use it as a give away 😂. I remember back in the day, Simon used to hide from mod’s selfies. Now he is doing the most embarrassing dancing, which you can tell by his face he thought he was the next Justin timber lake. Just goes to show how much ‘fame’ changes people.

Mumofkids · 25/03/2018 22:52

I definite spend less time on mumsnet and Instagram than FOD spends instagramming his kids, but of course he's allowed without question by the fandom.
I don't watch channels with adverts. I might watch something on Netflix or iplayer but that's it. I hate adverts. YouTube kids is the work of the devil and from innocent pepos pig, the children are exposed to millionaire kids unboxing. So YouTube gets banned and they have the advertless CBeebies. I don't like being blagged. I don't like kids being used. A quick flick though MOD's posts and her account is to be fair, far less twins. But the recent post of her in a jumper got 7000 ish likes and the one of the twins in the snow... 45000. They are the money. It's not mean to discuss that the brands she promotes have all sent freebies, it's not mean to discuss how many holidays she's had. It's not mean to discuss FOD's questionable parenting for the sake of a video. 2 kids on a kitchen work surface with China mugs and plates and he turns away to story... who comes first, Instagram or the kids?
It's more worrying that people don't question things they are fed and simply put people who do down as jealous or mean.

Stellastartsitall · 25/03/2018 22:54

@babaloo hahaha.... Justin Timberlake wannabe.... I felt embarrassed watching it. He tried so hard today!

Babaloo88 · 25/03/2018 22:55

I mean how can you take man who wears ankle length tight jeans seriously?

Stellastartsitall · 25/03/2018 22:56

@mumofkids nope not mean at all.

AdidasGirl · 25/03/2018 22:58

@Babaloo88 I was cringing watching FOD dance whilst thinking to myself that you could tell by his face how serious he was taking it and how he thought he could dance..He can't.

greengrass1234 · 25/03/2018 22:58

I feel a bit sorry for MOD having to post eight Instagram pics of this free holiday. Eight is a lot! It's going to come across as innauthentic and when PR doesn't seem genuine it's not worth anything

Mumofkids · 25/03/2018 22:58

Stellastartsitall- he was even moving the kids away to get a better shot off him, not playfully getting down and laughing with them being cheeky. It is sad.

Fruitbowl2 · 25/03/2018 22:58

I discovered MP and MOFOD from that Grazia mag I linked earlier in August 2016. I wasn't even on IG and just would check in and then discovered the girl gang. I really just watched in horror tbh and then I started to question the volume of stuff they were peddling. I found the original MN thread in sept 2017 when a friend who knows the instamums mentioned it to me. I was relieved somebody else thought all this stuff was odd. Without giving TMI and am stuck somewhere currently where my phone is my only entertainment (I'm not in prison!) and I'm really enjoying this discussion.

greengrass1234 · 25/03/2018 22:59

However she only talked about the deal (8 posts being her side of it) on her Stories which of course disappear in 24 hours, so they're long gone

greengrass1234 · 25/03/2018 23:02

Also why didn't use the Instagram 'paid partnership' thing on her latest post? Because it isn't paid? Because it's just a 'swap' - free holiday for your eight posts?

TheyDoItOnPurposeLynne · 25/03/2018 23:04

Oh god FOD with his "ohhhh I'm not serious (but wait, I actually am)" dancing posts. I guess that's the definition of Dad Dancing though Hmm

ScipioAfricanus · 25/03/2018 23:04

greengrass - Courtney Adamo uses this loophole - it’s only an advert when it’s been paid for with money, as opposed to ‘gifted’ clothes etc. (she used to only put ‘sp’ For sponsored as her hashtag so it was very unclear it was an ad even then - don’t know what she does now as I’ve unfollowed her). Very disingenuous and sneaky!

faceandpalm · 25/03/2018 23:06

@greengrass1234 Swap / gift / ad - am I being silly... aren’t these all essentially ‘paid partnerships’?

Mumofkids · 25/03/2018 23:08

Ahh so paid partnership is cash, and the others all given ads? So sneaky.
