To put dog **** bags on top of car?

thinkingaboutfostering · 21/03/2018 12:53

Sat outside my horses field waiting for the carrier. Car pulls up and two women get out and take 6 dogs for a walk up the path. 3 times so far (they are still in sight at the mo) have they stopped bagged up the dog poo and proceeded to drop the bags on the floor and walk off.

Would I be unreasonable to pick up Sian bags and dump them on their car bonnet with a note saying to take them home with them?

Done it. They have been joined by 2 more women and lots of dogs.

They are on the way back now. I'm hiding in the barn to see what happens!

I'm not good with confrontation and they will know it is me cos I was the only person around!

I have a big clip and clip them to my dog's harness. Keeps my hands free and doesn't bother him.

martellandginger · 21/03/2018 13:24

They sound like dog walkers. can you get a company name and shame them?

Unless of course they are leaving the dog bags on the trail to remind them of the way back to their car?

AboutAGallonofDietCoke · 21/03/2018 13:26

Good for you

MultiGrey · 21/03/2018 13:26

Well done OP

DorisDayisMe · 21/03/2018 13:28

I can never understand that, it makes me see red. I see loads of dog poo bags dumped everywhere. Why bother to bag it, if you are just going to leave it.

Omgineedanamechange · 21/03/2018 13:28

They could have been planning to collect them all on the way back. Ive seen several people do that.

teaiseverything · 21/03/2018 13:30

@littlepeas my dog does approximately 5 poos every walk (3 I'm sure are out of spite) but.....tough shit. If you choose you have a dog, you take responsibility for the clean up. End of.

AboutAGallonofDietCoke · 21/03/2018 13:30

omg

No excuse

ShotsFired · 21/03/2018 13:31

I am a keen advocate of reusing, so I may have emptied the shit bags onto the bonnet and then left them tied round the door handles for them to reuse Grin

sundowners · 21/03/2018 13:32

Well done OP!! So many threads saying "ooohhh shall I do this??" and despite encouragement OP never has the guts to do it.

Rude, selfish, entitled people like this need to be shamed into (hopefully) re-examining their behaviour and its affect on others. Update later please!

Knowivedonewrong · 21/03/2018 13:32

I bag all mine together and tie it on the end of my walking pole. A pain in the arse, but I won't leave it on the floor in case I don't come back that way.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 21/03/2018 13:33

I don’t mind carrying my dogs poo bag along the walk. Specially on a vair cold day, it’s like a nice hand hand warmer. Grin joking, honest!

BitOutOfPractice · 21/03/2018 13:34

Oh lord this drives me mad. I'm starting to think the "most dog owners are responsible" thing needs to be dialed doen to "some dog owners"

MrsJoshDun · 21/03/2018 13:35

I sometimes leave poo to pick up on the way back but wouldn't if livestock in the field.

littlepeas · 21/03/2018 13:35

Just to clarify once again - I don’t personally leave bags of dog poo lying about. I can’t get too wound up about someone who leaves it off the path and collects it on their way back. I agree that leaving it and NOT collecting later is unacceptable. I’m not sure this was worth the potential confrontation, especially as the OP has had to hide!

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 21/03/2018 13:35

Haha! Brilliant! Well done thinking - keep us posted!

SiolGhoraidh · 21/03/2018 13:36

Soooo, what happened?

I can't stand people who leave full poo bags around. Worse even than just leaving the turds.
We have a little canister thing that holds full bags on a long walk when there's no bins around. Or if he goes near the car we will nip back and hang the bag off the tow bar (husband used to put them behind the front wheel, but on one occasion that went very messily wrong when he reversed over it...)

AboutAGallonofDietCoke · 21/03/2018 13:36

mrsjosh
Why? You shouldn't.
If rural a passing horse could eat it. If urban I could tread in it. Take it with you.
Don't be selfish or don't have a dog.

strawberrygelato · 21/03/2018 13:37

That's actually quite petty

pizzapine · 21/03/2018 13:38

They may plan on picking it up on their way back to the car.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 21/03/2018 13:38

So you're fine with bags of shit being left all over the place, @Strawberrygelato?

AboutAGallonofDietCoke · 21/03/2018 13:39

Not really strawberry when several horses have died due to this issue.
At the lower end of the scale I can barely walk round here with out my child getting covered in shit.
Sorry youbfind that 'petty'
Hope you don't have animals

Jaynesworld · 21/03/2018 13:40

Id rather step on a bagged poo than one that isnt. Confused Why cant all dog owners pick up their dog poo and carry it. I wouldnt leave a shitty nappy on the floor (bagged or not) to pick up later or not at all. Its not nice but those be the rules.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 21/03/2018 13:41

I wouldn't assume they plan on picking them up later. But if that was their plan, you would be saving them the trouble by putting the bags on their car, so go ahead.

Round here people bag up the poor then hang the "poo baubles" on fences, hedges, trees.... I don't think they are coming back for those.
