Would it be an attack on the grid? Or the systems operating credit cards, so we'd have trouble paying for things? Or something affecting how food stocks get from A to B?
If the grid was targeted, how long would we have public transport for?
I think a cyber attack could cause a lot of upheaval and upset for a few weeks, until the government sorted out for example, emergency food supplies. But can they even do that?
I'm in London and when so much of the city water supply went wrong a couple weeks ago, it did make me think of how easily you get thrown into chaos! Fortunately, the water situation was resolved quickly because it was just due to weather, not deliberately damaged.
