AIBU to ask what I should spend my money on?

15 years ago I got mugged talked into taking out a well woman insurance policy (I never was very good at saying no Blush). Anyway, I didn't really think much more about it after that - it was only £5 a month and I never really got around to cancel it. Anyway, I come home from work today and there's a letter from the insurance company with a cheque for £1000 in Shock. Apparently, if you don't claim on the insurance for 15 yrs then they give you all of your premiums back Grin.

Both my & Dhs wages get paid into a joint account for joint & family purchases but we allocate ourselves an 'allowance' which is transfered into our own accounts each month to do our own personal things (eg buy clothes, go out with friends, buy lunch in work etc). The insurance premiums were all paid out of my personal allowance so technically the payout should be all mine (DH agrees - they're already getting my 'good performance' bonus money which has been allocated to the joint money Wink).

So the question is - what should I spend my money on? (For info - I also have 2 DDs -10 & 7).

Don't spend it just because you can. Pop into your ISA for now.
