I know it's not a great day for everyone so I hope you find something nice to cheer you up today. FlowersCakeWineWineWine

Thank you for saying that. Hope you have a good day too xXx

Bluesheep8 · 11/03/2018 09:29

Ah that's a kind sentiment. I'm lucky to still have my lovely mum but know people who really struggle with both the day and seeing the cards in the shops for weeks before, every year. It's really hard.

Jaygee61 · 11/03/2018 09:30

Thank you ShortandAnnoying. Wine great name!

Sarsparella · 11/03/2018 09:32

I lost my mum two years ago and recently have had to come to terms with never having my own children naturally, I never noticed until I lost my mum how all encompassing Mothers Day is, you can’t escape it in shops, advertising, on the tv, radio, it’s like someone smashing it against my head and I’m going to hide away today

AHintOfStyle · 11/03/2018 09:32

Thank you. Struggling for a few reasons.

Sending the hug forward to everyone else:

craigglen · 11/03/2018 09:32

Thank you for such a kind thought. Xx

Thank you for such a kind thread.

Flowers, Chocolate and a Brew (or Gin if that's better!) for everyone who isn't having the best of days.

I saw this this morning and thought it summed it up well...

Thank you. My mum has just been diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I live a plane ride away and can't go home to give her a hug just now. Don't know how to handle the visit to Mil later.

SoozC · 11/03/2018 10:11

Thank you. I had a mc last autumn after 2 years trying and wonder if I'll ever be a mum.

Biglittletown · 11/03/2018 10:14

Its my first mothers day as a separated parent and of course stbxh wouldn't flex on our arrangement to allow me to see them today ..my own DM died when I was child so mothers day has always had a air of sadness around it

As soon as I opened my eyes this morning , I cried .

The lovely squishy cuddles of my new partners little girl this morning (he is a widower and she is 4) eased some of the pain (hopefully for her too) but still I'll be glad when its over

Flowers to everyone today regardless of their situation

catlover1987 · 11/03/2018 10:23

Thank you OP. I have no contact with my Mum and am struggling to become a Mum myself so today is tough. Going to spend the day with my aunt, who is like a mum to me and try and be thankful for what I have. Sending virtual hugs to anyone struggling today xx

persypear · 11/03/2018 10:31

Thank you OP. So thoughtful of you :)

Its a difficult day for me too for a few reasons. Feels like a Cake day to me! Hugs to you all too Flowers.

LakieLady · 11/03/2018 10:35

That's a lovely thought, OP.

My mum died 8 years ago. The flowers I sent her on Mother's Day were still on the porch on the following Tuesday, which is what raised the neighbours' concerns. They let themselves in and found that she'd died.

I'd spoken to her the previous evening, as we were busy entertaining my ex-MIL all day on the Sunday, so she must have died between Saturday night and 11.00 am Sunday.

It does spoil the day rather, although we're going to see my lovely MIL today, she's like a second mum to me, she's fantastic.

I lost my Mum very suddenly last year. Today is also her birthday. It's a bit of a shit day all round and I'll be glad when it's over.

Allnightlong2016 · 11/03/2018 11:01

Thank you. It’s the first Mother’s Day without my Mum and I’m feeling really sad.

It’s really nice of you to post this. 🌹

TheMaddHugger · 11/03/2018 11:26

Sending my (((((((Madd Hugs))))))) to All too.

My Mum wasn't perfect but I still miss her terribly.

Jakadaal · 11/03/2018 11:37

Saw this on fb - I still have my mum but not sure how long for. I also struggled to be a mum and I now have 2 lovely adopted dcs but things are difficult with my eldest (although I love her beyond words)
