I sorted my own things out for Mothers Day this year.

I reminded the kids. DH's mum died this year, I don't really want to make a fuss about it. But the kids can make me a card.

How old are they? The kids, not DH. DS made one at nursery.

I know you shouldn't have to but some people just don't remember things like that. When you do and you're married to someone who doesn't, it must be frustrating.

DH "didn't have time" to get me a Valentine's card one year and announced "haven't got you anything yet" for a birthday. This was nearly 20 years ago and it never happened again.

We went out for drinks and bumped into friends at the valentines and I was asked what I had given DH (DFH then) and vice versa and he was LAMBLASTED by the table when said he hadn't got anything.

For the birthday I went out and bought myself a several hundred pound handbag and told him that it was my present to myself. I'd been umming and arrhing over it and that tipped me over into "I'm allowed nice things". DH never begrudges spending money but it was a shock to him that I did spend that amount on myself.

Now he remembers EVERYTHING.

LAMBASTED LOL! Though Lamblasted sounds great!

Blush Isn't "lamblasted" a word?

Polkadot1974 · 10/03/2018 21:30

Yes- real word. It means to pelt people with stewed lamb chunks...Grin
