He was given life with a minimum of 8 years. You need to understand the sentencing structure. He served his time. Ergo he would be eligible to apply for parole.

BarbarianMum · 09/03/2018 08:07

Couple of years per rape. And maybe a year for the kidnap of a child. Yep, sounds about right. But hey, he was rehabilitated. We know this because he hasn't raped or assaulted a wonen whilst in prison. Angry

NewYear. I understand the sentencing structure. I just don't agree with it.

Absolutely pathetic, life sentences are meaningless. What on earth made them consider him for parole, did they really think he wouldn't reoffend. I'm appalled at how many rapists and murderers are released after not serving their sentences, only to reoffend at the first opportunity. Whoever makes these decisions should be held to account. We should have the right to be protected from the vile bastards.

When given a life sentence the judge usually specifies how long the prison sentence is to be, subject to good behaviour. The rest of life sentence spent outside prison subject to good behaviour - if they break terms of parole then they go back to jail

same BarbarianMum - its a fucking joke

Ridiculous, don't know why they even use the word 'life' in this context any more, as it seems to mean 'just a few years'. Judges ...WTF?
