Am I alone in wondering where the WOMEN wanting to trans are?

loveyouradvice · 08/03/2018 08:33

They feel so invisible....

Everywhere I look there are men who have or are transitioning to be transwomen - on magazine covers, on all women shortlists, in the media....

But where are the natal born women who are/have transitioned?

The only two I've come across are:

  • one who detransitioned and wrote movingly about it, after ten years as a transman
  • the american high school wrestler who is fighting to be allowed to fight in men's categories

The original post was about visabilty of Transmen , I know more men with a trans past than women with a trans past

I have discussed this with Stephen and various others including serving MP,s and cabinet ministers

you may think what you like , but when you start attacking men and women who have lived their lives and jumped through all the hoops asked of them that's where it becomes a problem

when anyone deliberately misgenders a man or woman who holds a full GRC (4500 or so in the last 13 years )
it beomes a hate crime , treating any man or woman in such a way being disrespectful will see people charged with a criminal offence , on conviction fingerprints and dna taken

in certain circumstances people convicted of hate crimes who are housing tenants can be in breach of their tenancy agreements

do please debate as much as you like , but please no bullying or abusing people who may already have a GRC

mine was the 7th to be issued back in 2005 it didn't change anything for me , I have lived as a female all my life , all of the first few hundred certificate issued had already lived longer in our official acquired role than the handful of years we spent living in the primary role

I understand the EHRC are currently monitoring these boards , use of derogatory terms to describe people who live quiet unassuming lives will not be tolerated

so please be nice !

perhaps a return to the original thread might be helpful there are roughly 50/50 presenting at various GIC,s now ,

I know around 800 men with a trans past but only about 40 women with a trans past
I don't know any of the current TG activists , been too busy with my life /grandchildren/and retirement

please put the whole thing into prospective , am sure any natal female would be furious if anyone claimed all women were like the type of Myra Hindley

unfortunately I have already had to report a number of postings to senior officers within GMP/The Met

I think if we're going to hold Lily Madigan responsible for her words and actions at 20, this fella needs to own his shit too.

AssassinatedBeauty · 15/03/2018 21:54

I don't really understand what the last two posts are about.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:02

You post the above...and then

Love Peace and empathy

Alrighty

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:03

I think if we're going to hold Lily Madigan responsible for her words and actions at 20

When do you think adults should be responsible for their words and actions

LineysOfArabia · 15/03/2018 22:04

It's 18, isn't it?

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:06

So a representative of the local political party is not responsible for their words and actions?

I mean it just seems weird to actually name someone specific rather than just saying

'As an adult this fella needs to own his shit*

Stillscreaming · 15/03/2018 22:06

When do you think adults should be responsible for their words and actions

I was replying to jaycee's post and then everlastinglove posted before me. Jaycee was being rather more charitable about a much older teacher.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:09

Well i thought so liney

At least thats what ds1 was telling me...knew I shouldn't believe him!!

thanksjaneshusbandatcaresouth · 15/03/2018 22:13

Everlastinglove.

That post really spoils a good discussion.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:17

Its very threatening isnt it thanks

Very silencing

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:19

And boring

Might be cos it was really long...and a bit rambling

LineysOfArabia · 15/03/2018 22:19

Won't work anyway.

LineysOfArabia · 15/03/2018 22:20

Someone told on us to their dad.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:20

lineys

Im actually terrified

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:21

Nope sorry

Terrified should read as tired

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:22

Well apparently the age at which you are responsible for your words and actions is very flexible

Who knew??

So its not our fault...we is young

thanksjaneshusbandatcaresouth · 15/03/2018 22:26

Everlasting,

If you make threats people will stop listening. It’s counterproductive. See above.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 15/03/2018 22:34

thanks

Yep

I haven't even been rude or misgendered or anything

But i dont like threats

thanksjaneshusbandatcaresouth · 15/03/2018 22:44

Yes.

Right, I’m going back to reading/listening to all the smart courteous robust contributors....

EverlastingLove · 15/03/2018 22:46

There is such a thing as consequences , all I am telling you some of the older men and women with trans pasts have been extremely offended and hurt by many of the derogatory term used on MN

people who have lived quiet unassuming lives for many decades
never caused anyone any problems , never complained , these people are now complaining

and we are being listened to , but if you want to ignor , polite asking be prepared for the consequences

Stillscreaming · 15/03/2018 22:47

poster thanksjaneshusbandatcaresouth

Everlasting got to page 29 managing to be respectful and patient and then lost her rag. She answered lists of questions, honestly and openly. There were plenty of people who didn't manage to type out a one whole respectful and patient post.

I've had moments when I've got cross and it's not me that anyone is denegrating. Everlasting transitioned 25 (?) years ago and has had her GRC and been legally female, for 14 years. Some women here are talking about removing her legal standing, I can see why she's upset. I'd be terrified in her position.

No one is discussing taking away her legal protection because she's done something awful, not even because another trans woman has done something awful. Things have been bumping along fine for most of that 14 years but now some people are up in arms over a political point.

I think if a country that I'd grown up in, raised children in, worked in and been law abiding in, suddenly had people saying that they wanted a to pull all of my legal protection away from me, I'd be angry about it; angry, frightened and upset.

This isn't an interesting discussion for Everlasting, it isn't a political or moral point to muse over. This is her life and some people are implying that she isn't safe enough or something enough to live among them.

Her reactions isn't perfect but I'd be very slow to judge her for it.

ATailofTwoKitties · 15/03/2018 22:49

But that’s the same position as many women feel they are now in, stillscreaming.

thanksjaneshusbandatcaresouth · 15/03/2018 22:52

She is bloody lucky to have you to advocate for her Stillscreaming.

Stillscreaming · 15/03/2018 22:55

But that’s the same position as many women feel they are now in, stillscreaming.

A lot of women on here had no idea that there had been a gender recognition bill until recently. Over the last 14 years it didn't feature in their lives once.

I've posted as many links as possible, showing that the law is very unlikely to change but no one wants to listen to that.

Someone actually posted earlier that she's like to see a trans woman commit a serious crime, just so everyone would know she was right. She actually wanted to see a woman or child murdered so she could be proved right. That's not proportionate, that's not a normal thing to wish for, that not a reasonable response to anything.
