Gah

Justalittlelemondrizzle · 08/03/2018 12:41

'Going forward' I hate that phrase with a passion!

'Electric light' as in "it's hard to tell what colour that is under an electric light."

And obviously.. 'moist!' 😑

sits in corner and shivers

MakeUpMyRoom · 08/03/2018 12:41

goady

DarthNigel · 08/03/2018 12:57

'Sat' used incorrectly. ' I was sat at the bus stop' No, you were 'sitting' at the bus stop. Or you could say 'I sat at the bus stop'.
I don't know why it irritates me so much.

spiney · 08/03/2018 13:00

BOAK

MasterLeonard · 08/03/2018 13:02

AdidasGirl · 08/03/2018 13:05

thewooster · 08/03/2018 13:07

Bird - when used to describe a woman.

Grow some balls. Making out men are stronger than women when we all know that's not the case.

Cray cray. An Americanism andl a crap phrase. Along with all that bros before hos shit.

lightbulbneedschanging · 08/03/2018 13:09

‘Revert back’ to someone as opposed to just ‘get back’.

Also ‘utilise’ eg ‘I will utilise the appliances’
What wrong with just simple old ‘use’? means the same thing surely?!

4Funnels · 08/03/2018 13:12

@DarthNigel

I don't know why it annoys you so much either when it's perfectly correct.

I sat at the bus stop.
I had sat at the bus stop.
I will have sat at the bus stop ...
They will have been sitting at the bus stop ...
I have sat at the bus stop.
They won't have been sat at the bus stop ...
I was sat at the bus stop.
They were sat at the bus stop.

Why do you think it's incorrect?

MakeUpMyRoom · 08/03/2018 13:14

"Making out men are stronger than women"

Oooh. You haven't visited any of the anti-trans in sport threads!

MascaraWanda · 08/03/2018 13:20

thewooster · 08/03/2018 13:27

Another one I hate is she wears the trousers in that house.

DaftCat · 08/03/2018 13:29

“Oh my days”.
Usually “oh my dasaaaaaaaaaaayssssssssssss!!!!!”
What does it even mean ???!!!
Have to say I agree with practically every one of these, especially the misspellings and the “turn around”
And yes the ‘wait’ thing is incredibly annoying, Dsd does it all the time. We now freeze and stop talking every time she says ‘wait’ and then one of us will enquire what we’re waiting for.

goose1964 · 08/03/2018 13:31

Gotten,a horrid american import

PurplePotatoes · 08/03/2018 13:32

Haven't read them all but mine are:

We're pregnant
Moist
Fricking
Calling phones etc "tech
On fleek - whatever that is

SuddenBeetE · 08/03/2018 13:33

Hubby

4Funnels · 08/03/2018 13:36

goose1964

'Gotten' is an Old English export.

The grammatical / etymological pedantry is really lacking.

YessicaHaircut · 08/03/2018 13:36

“Being good” referring to food. My colleague is on Weightwatchers and says it constantly. It makes me so cross!! (She is a feeder too but that’s for another thread)

Gottagetmoving · 08/03/2018 13:42

Fanjo
Bestie as in 'She's my bestie' (friend)
Hubby or hubs
Bae
Pick your battles

Blubbergalore · 08/03/2018 13:45

“Having a girly catch-up” or “night out/in with the girls/girlies”, makes me cringe.

RoseWhiteTips · 08/03/2018 13:52

I’m good.

Gottagetmoving · 08/03/2018 13:52

Describing a drink as 'cheeky' as in 'Having a cheeky glass of vino!'
( ...and saying vino instead if wine!!!)
Then adding...'Dont mind if I do!'
Only a dickhead says that...a pretentious show off dickhead!

Dustyroad63 · 08/03/2018 14:02

Bockle instead of bottle
Lickle instead of little
Makes me cringe.

Can I get
Pots
Toms
Veggies
Picky bits
