Guilt of leaving a settling baby

guiltymummygalore · 07/03/2018 12:24

DD 11 months old. Been settling for 4 weeks now (3 days per week). I'm due back to work in a couple of weeks and am struggling leaving DD in the mornings; her crying as I say bye. Then crying on and off throughout the day. Not wanting to eat at meal times (taking her bottle though). Upset at nap times.

Will this last long? Am I a bad mother?
I'm not in a position to give up work.

You're definitely not a bad mother Flowers

Dd took a good six weeks plus to settle with her childminder. Used to wail at drop off and pick up but she got there. She loves going to play with the other girls there and adores her childminder thoroughly.

Unless you have misgivings about the actual care don't worry and keep going, four weeks is still really early and if anything like teething or a cold has been bothering her that won't have helped.
