To think there is no point giving your significant other a lie-in?

If you take so long to get out of bed to deal with the children that everyone is already wide awake, then allow said children to make an unholy amount of noise. And do it all with much sighing and a distinct whiff of martyrdom...

Is there a point to your significant other, op? If this is more than a one off id be having a serious word.although I must say I'm on martyr shift this morning after giving my so a lie in as we're both knackered. Although I did at least try to keep the noise down. Get some ear plugs?

SharronNeedles · 06/03/2018 08:10

My DH does this. His response is "just go back to sleep".
He can do this. Literally he's like a parrot, put him in a dark room and he's asleep!
I can't. Once in awake that's it for the day

sexnotgender · 06/03/2018 08:33

Are they usually so inconsiderate?

BellyBean · 06/03/2018 09:22

I rarely sleep late on my lie in days, but enjoying the iPad lounging in bed is still a nice break.

Agreed though you should be allowed to sleep if you want

Ear plugs Op, seriously.

Each of you should be getting a lie in each week. So one on Saturday and one on Sunday for instance. If he does his martyr shit tell him NO he does not behave like this and to get his head out of his star and keep the kids noise down. Or you will do the same when it is his turn.

Tell him to grow up and be a decent parent and partner.

Gosh I was grumpy this morning Blush. He’s not usually that bad- though I think makes less effort to get up quickly than I do as I usually feed the baby before he takes him away so I’m kind of awake. But I can semi-doze while I do that and usually go back to sleep afterwards, providing I haven’t also had twenty minutes of a three year old bouncing on me and shouting in my ear asking if daddy can get up now first, like this morning Angry.
