To ask how you cope with dc who are close together in age

There's 11 months between my two and I'm due ds later this month. But I'm so scared.
He wasn't planned and I found out at 24 weeks I was expecting him and I was on contraception. It was a real shock.
I love him. But I'm worried how dd will cope and adapt. Worried about getting them to sleep (dd likes to be cuddled which I can't do with a newborn) I'm prepared for the challenge but I want to make my household happy and limit stress as much as I can as it affects children I think.

Sorry op, will this be your third baby? First two 11 months apart and then a third, ds?

Myheartbelongsto · 05/03/2018 13:51

I had three under two, my first two were ten months apart.

My best advice is to be as organised as poss.

I can remember tines where I would holding baby, rocking a bouncer with one foot and telling my toddler I'll be just a minute.

Do as much as you can to prepare for each day, take offers of childcare and get out and about each day as the house stays cleaner!

Batch cook etc etc.

Lizardtheblizzard · 05/03/2018 13:52

Is this your second or third? I had 3 in 20 months, and it was horrid, but we all survived.

Lizardtheblizzard · 05/03/2018 13:53

Get a triple pram too. That’s my very best advice. For containment more than anything.

PlanetMJ · 05/03/2018 13:54

Get a sling for the baby. Tis the only way.

Lizardtheblizzard · 05/03/2018 13:55

Yes a good sling is a lifesaver. I had one baby on the front, the other on the back and the toddler still got to hold my hands.

Less than a minute between my two Grin My friend had 3 under 3 at one point, 10.5 months between the two youngest. When we've talked her and I have both said the only way we kept our sanity was getting them all in a strict routine and sticking with it.

SashaGem · 05/03/2018 14:05

Oh and put a wash on every day and hang stuff the right way out, saves so much time.

Twocatsonebaby · 05/03/2018 14:43

Sorry no, two dcs. 11 months between them. My dd is 11 months this month. It just seems like strict routine. Their dad is a good dad but I kicked him out as he wasn't good to me and honestly, I can see myself struggling without him as at the moment he's all dd wants :(
