Crossing the road on my bike (on a crossroad, no crossing to the side of the road I needed to get to but it’s a steep hill so I had to cross at s certain point.

I started crossing when the lights changed, car moved forward slammed on brakes and held the horn down for the entire time I cycled in front.

I didn’t even look at them, just stayed nice and calm staring ahead (whilst their head probably exploded) and held my fingers up at them.

And improper use of the horn has a maximum penalty of £1,000.

Using your horn to let someone know you are there is proper use. Since this cyclist was impervious to the presence of a car about to move forward, the car was perfectly correct to make their presence known.

Finally, would just like to say to the OP how annoying it is that such crude, cantankerous cyclists, who ride their bikes across traffic without following the rules of the road, make it very difficult for the rest of us who use our bikes for transport and not to make some statement.

holding the horn down was stupid but sometimes people don't see you I had a man shout at me because I didn't see him at the cross road he was aggressive and I told him sorry and he said sorry too but it could of ended up worse
