AIBU to worry about soft toys in this cold?

I am struggling against my irrational self.
My daughter is 3 months old and in a pram. Across the pram hood is Mrs Cornflake - a sort of superheroine soft toy bunny carrying a thunder bolt and wearing a superhero mask. I know not who her marital partner is nor why she is called Cornflake - my son named her.
Anyway, every time we have left the house this week, I have looked at the snow and tucked her into the blankets with my daughter in case she gets cold in this snowy weather. I have also found myself tucking soft toys into the bed covers.
Anyone else worried their soft toys are feeling a little nippy in this cold spell??
No...?
Just me then?
think I’m losing my mind bloody sleep deprivation 😩

Grin I think the snow has sent everyone a bit crazy this week OP. Don't worry.

OccasionalNachos · 02/03/2018 21:22

I get stupidly upset about abandoned/lost soft toys so I am 100% with you OP. Keep her warm!

DalekDalekDalek · 02/03/2018 21:22

I think if you have any compassion then you would probably be giving Mrs Cornflake a hot water bottle.

I know not who her marital partner is nor why she is called Cornflake

I assume her marital partner is Mr Cornflake but I suppose she may have kept her maiden name. Also, we're assuming it is a heterosexual relationship which is a bit old-fashioned!

I always feel sorry for toys that fall out of bed and have to tuck them back in with dc.

derenstar · 02/03/2018 21:24

Oh dear OP, your post is a bit bonkers but sweet and endearing all the same. I’m pretty certain inanimate objects cannot feel the cold so please don’t worry Grin

I doubt the kind of rabbit who wears a mask and carries a lightning bolt would be that worried about a bit of snow so for that yabu. However other soft toys who are less well endowed with super powers definitely need to be tucked in.

I frequently dress half naked dollies once my girls are in bed 😐

This evening I've been into eldest daughter's room to find appropriate winter clothing for dollies - tights, trousers, vests, jackets and hats - dresses them all, and tucked them into the dolly pram with blankets.

My mum knotted all the dolly clothes so she's as nuts as me 😫

We lost a little brown hare cuddly in Totnes in May 2016. I still worry about him Sad

64BooLane · 02/03/2018 21:34

I often chat to dd’s most loved soft toy when dd is at school, and let him sit with me while I work. I don’t like to think of him being lonely.

64BooLane · 02/03/2018 21:35

And yes, I’d be very concerned if he went out without appropriate cold-weather gear (although he never goes out, luckily, so no worries there).

FreeNiki · 02/03/2018 21:36

Oh yes.

I have tucked my stuffed toys under the duvet in this cold weather. Poor toys.

MessyBun247 · 02/03/2018 21:40

I have found my people! Glad to see I’m not the only mental person who thinks this way! Smile

Aprilmightmemynewname · 02/03/2018 21:42

I snuggled a toy Highland cow under ds's duvet last night!

Toddlerteaplease · 02/03/2018 21:45

Me too!

DSHathawaysLover · 02/03/2018 21:46

Skye, Marshall and Chase get tucked in every night here

Klarabing · 02/03/2018 21:47

My bed partner. My ds has his near identical twin brother in beside him. We must each sleep with a bun bun every night.

AccioWine · 02/03/2018 21:47

There are others! Toy Story really did a number on us, didn't it?!

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/03/2018 21:47

My poor monkey got an ear infection, he had to have extra cuddles and bananas.

GrannyGrissle · 02/03/2018 21:48

The fairies put all DD's Sylvanian Families to bed in their sleeping bags a i made them every night without fail.

NorthernKnickers · 02/03/2018 21:49

I brought in all my dog's toys from the garden (she hides them out there), washed them (using fabric conditioner!!) and put them neatly in a nice basket by the radiators! She is ITCHING to take them out but I am being very protective of Mrs Iggy Piggy, Spider-kins, Big Bear and Raggy Doll!! Far too cold out there ❄️❄️

I was once in John Lewis at closing time on Christmas Eve. There was one large teddy bear left on the shelf. I had to buy him so he wasn’t lonely at Christmas.

HanutaQueen · 02/03/2018 21:50

Someone dropped a bear outside my house about a year and a half ago. For ages he was on my wall, in case his owner came past and got him. Then the weather turned and I took him in and he now lives in my kitchen.

So if you have lost a Waitrose 2016 bear, on the Kent/Surrey border, he is nice and warm and looks after my utensils (if you really have lost him you will know the route you were taking so you're welcome to him back!)

PenelopeChipShop · 02/03/2018 21:50

I sympathise as I can’t leave teddies face down or in uncomfortable looking positions!

gingergenius · 02/03/2018 21:54

I think my daughter may have stolen everyone else's soft toys. I've been wondering for months how and why they have been multiplying.

I'm so sorry. My daughter is a plushtomaniac.

ineedamoreadultieradult · 02/03/2018 21:54

If any teddies look uncomfortable on the shelf in the shop I make them comfy, I also make sure I move them next to a friend if they are alone.
