AIBU to worry about soft toys in this cold?

I am struggling against my irrational self.
My daughter is 3 months old and in a pram. Across the pram hood is Mrs Cornflake - a sort of superheroine soft toy bunny carrying a thunder bolt and wearing a superhero mask. I know not who her marital partner is nor why she is called Cornflake - my son named her.
Anyway, every time we have left the house this week, I have looked at the snow and tucked her into the blankets with my daughter in case she gets cold in this snowy weather. I have also found myself tucking soft toys into the bed covers.
Anyone else worried their soft toys are feeling a little nippy in this cold spell??
No...?
Just me then?
think I’m losing my mind bloody sleep deprivation 😩

So maybe the somewhat recent "Shared Custody of the Teddy Bear with an Ex" thread wasn't that crazy after all ?? Wink

Dd (9) has been tucking her 2 soft toys she sleeps with back in bed for a while now. Shes had one for a few years and it instantly became her personal fave, the other is a more recent addition. The oldest toy definitely has magical powers. Dd first alerted me to it and the second is in training.

Not free but lovely. I've knitted one...

WellThisIsShit · 03/03/2018 09:52

Perfectly reasonable, in fact, I’m not sure why the doubt crept in!

liz70 · 03/03/2018 12:56

OThey're lovely, theworld, but I've already done a loom knit bunny. :-)

I'm particularly partial to Emily Kitty, but I can't exactly steal her back from DD3, much as I'd like to. Grin

File attachment not working in so can't post pics atm.

We were in NY with the kids, my daughter’s rabbit got caught up in the sheets and disappeared into the NY hotel laundry service. We had a horrible 24 hours imagining Fluffy lost in NY..... The hotel got her back and she was returned to us on our last night, slightly bashed up but very clean. I think I was even more relieved than my daughter - I thought Fluffy would feel abandoned. So ridiculous!

GallicosCats · 03/03/2018 13:37

Reminds me of the time Froggy got an unscheduled bath after getting mixed up in some bed sheets in a Greek hotel a few years ago...DD was 14! Grin

Thanks to this thread I've just had to dig my childhood stuffed toy out from the back of the cupboard to make sure she's ok.

(She lives with a toy of my dh's and a toy that was given for our baby but isn't baby-safe so is waiting till he's older, just incase anyone was worried she was lonely in the cupboard).

Loyaultemelie · 03/03/2018 14:31

I definitely did not get up at about 2 in the morning because dd2s other cuddly carrot wasn't in with us (2 carrots and Cookie the dog every night but DH has only brought 1 as she had fallen asleep and he carried her up) and I thought it might be cold and lonely BlushWhen DH asked what I was doing I had to pretend I was getting a drink. Tbf it was lucky I did because at 4am it was looked for

liz70 · 03/03/2018 14:39

Loyau methinks you need a cuddly boar in your bed! Grin

nonetcurtains · 03/03/2018 14:44

I still worry about Pinky, who got lost when I was being pushed in my pram by my nan. I often wonder where he is now.
I live in hope he will find his way home. Although common sense dictates he's lost and gone forever now, after all I was only 2 at the time and it was over 58 years ago.

I've just had to go upstairs and fetch my Wilby for a cwtch. The DC are looking at me oddly...

TellerTuesday4EVA · 03/03/2018 15:12

I've found my people!!

DD was a massive toy story fan, she had every character. When she outgrew it DH put the toys in a box with those clips on the side in loft.

A few days later I went up & took the lid off the box. You know.... just in case.

DH thinks I'm bonkers

FuzzyCustard · 03/03/2018 15:13

I have to admit that Ted has been snuggled up like this for several days...he didn't do it especially for this thread. Of course, bears would normally be hibernating at this time of year, which is why he is feeling the cold, but he does like to watch the TV!

RainbowdropsandUnicorns · 03/03/2018 15:13

I can totally relate to your post! Smile

tortelliniforever · 03/03/2018 15:13

I thought you were being a bit ridiculous OP then I remembered that last month DS announced that he was taking Teddy and not his usual faourite, Lamb, with him on holiday this time. I decided to take Lamb along myself in case he changed his mind but really I was worried that Lamb had been looking forward to the holiday and would be disappointed to stay at home.

BarbarianMum · 03/03/2018 15:18

I was coming on here to say that you've clearly lost it. And then I remembered getting progressively wound up about a lost teddy that was sat in a tree near us a couple of winters ago. We passed it every day going to and from school. After 2 weeks of no-one claiming it I cracked one stormy night and went to rescue it in the dark and rain. He's now called Alton and sits on ds2's bed. Blush

stevie69 · 03/03/2018 15:20

@Ralphstar

No, of course you aren't losing your mind.

I sleep well. Every night. No sleep deprivation whatsoever. But ..... when I jump out of bed in the morning and throw back the covers to air the bed, I always feel sorry for my rag doll, Isobel, who sleeps on the other side of the bed. I actually apologise to her and try and be as quick as possible in the shower so that I can get back and tuck her up again.

It's perfectly normal Blush
