this level of crisp consumption isn't normal?

A food delivery came yesterday, including 14 packs of hula hoops and 6 packs of quavers, total 20 packets of crisps. The DDs and I had a packet each yesterday and DD1 had a packet in her lunch bag today. So that accounts for 4 packets. So there should be 16 packets left.

I've just looked and there are only 11 packets left. Which means that DP ate five packets of crisps yesterday. He's a greedy pig right?

I do bloody love crisps though. Chocolate or anything sugary I don't like and rarely eat.

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 01/03/2018 16:05

I hate when people eat all the shared food without considering the impact on others - I still harbour resentment over my uncle taking 5 chicken pieces from the KFC family bucket that was meant to be shared by 6 of us when I was 15.

And yes that level of crisp consumption is overboard, but I'd also clarify with your DH that he understands that the food is for everyone, not just greedy sods.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 01/03/2018 16:09

You need those crisps for your business - you need to separate what's a free-for-all and what's for the children you mind. It's really unfair that he eats food that you've bought for them.

LaGattaNera · 01/03/2018 16:21

I don't often eat crisps but you can't beat a folded crisp, especially a folded Kettlechip salt & back pepper one.

Namechangedtoscream · 01/03/2018 16:24

No. It's an insufficient amount imo

Ledkr · 01/03/2018 16:27

Mine are all crisp greedy so I stopped buying them

Notso · 01/03/2018 16:30

I have to put crisps and other snacks into labelled boxes, one for each family member and a guest box. Partly because DH and DS1 are hogs and just eat whatever is available also because I find it hard to control myself around crisps and they trigger me to binge eat.

BakedBeans47 · 01/03/2018 16:32

My H and kids are like hoovers. I am greedy myself but what gets me is when they see they’ve eaten 5 out of a 6 pack of something they don’t think they should maybe leave one for me?!

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 01/03/2018 16:34

Yikes, that's an extraordinary amount of salt, half his daily maximum allowance! Shock Obviously very greedy too.

swivelchair · 01/03/2018 16:37

I could eat 2 or 3 packets of quavers/wotsits/other puffed corn snack if I let myself - but 5, I'd know that was wrong...

Mind you, I'm in a country where they don't exist, the closest is a kind of ketchup flavoured potato stick, or, and this is actually genius, a thing that's like wotsits, but peanut flavoured (anyone who's lived here will know where I am now) - and there's really only so many of them you can eat before your mouth gums up anyway.

Donotbequotingmeinbold · 01/03/2018 16:44

I eat a lot of crisps. I regularly have 4 bags of hula hoops in a day. Probably wouldn't have 5 but only because I stop myself to leave some for someone else.

AHedgehogCanNeverBeBuggered · 01/03/2018 16:44

swivelchair I know the ones you mean - I've eaten them in France and Hungary, they're delicious!

DollyMcDolly · 01/03/2018 16:58

I don’t have them in the house as I would eat the lot. If I buy the multipack, I’ll eat the multipack in one sitting. Totally addicted to crisps. Haven’t eaten any in 2 months now

lynmilne65 · 01/03/2018 17:16

Thanks now I'm eating dgc's crisps Blush

Bluntness100 · 01/03/2018 18:51

Surprised at the folks who would tell their husband Off for eating crisps. Must be like living with your mum again. A right turn on I imagine. 🤣

Cockmagic · 01/03/2018 18:57

I could easily forgo crisps but I'm obsessed with chocolate so much I don't keep it in the house.

Bought 4 Easter eggs to put away. Are all 4 within 2 days...

So I can't judge 😂

BrendasUmbrella · 01/03/2018 19:14

I can eat a multi pack in one sitting. That's why I don't have crisps anymore Sad

OopsPardonMrsArden · 01/03/2018 19:22

Yep, me too. Can't buy them or I will EAT THEM ALL

QueenLaBeefah · 01/03/2018 19:24

Really can't have hula hoops in the house (and Tunnocks tea cakes).

NeganLovesLucille · 01/03/2018 19:27

On a few occasions in my life I have to confess that I have eaten so many packets of pickled onion monster munch in one go that I have burnt the inside of my mouth Blush

I am not sorrry though and I will do it again

Mycarsmellsoflavender · 01/03/2018 19:30

Have you asked him? Maybe he took out a few packets and packed them to take to work or something ( clutching at straws). Or had you run out of food and that was all there was for dinner?

QueenLaBeefah · 01/03/2018 19:31

I could go on "My Strange Addiction" with Pickled Onion Monster Munch. Again, can't have them in the house.

Guest0925 · 01/03/2018 19:31

I dunno.... I think I’d want someone to have a word with me if I was consuming that amount of crisps regularly!!!

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 01/03/2018 19:31

I could do that too if I was having one of those pig out days but yes, he's bu eating that many when they're for everyone.

On another note I do actually tend to know how many packs of crisps, ice creams, cake bars (that kinda thing) we have in the house. I don't even know why, I just keep track

Ledkr · 01/03/2018 19:46

Dh is currently sulking as I told him he was greedy for eating ALL the granola. His response "I won't eat any ever again" the twat! Good for you pal, more for me then Grin
