I would when I was about 8 , being on the middle of a slide and falling off it , injuring my back

Not so much an injury but here is a delightful infected abscess I got. The lump was actually an indent from a previous op, and you can see the redness went to boob and elbow
I also have pics of after the drainage and skin flap reconstruction

I broke a rib by coughing!!!!
I did have a chest infection at the time.

As a 9 year old I borrowed my brothers home made bmx not arising he hadn't connected the brake cables.
Down a steep hill. right over handle bars and somehow cut myself down below on some wires. Possibly from the brake cables.
Imagine an episiotomy. Thays pretty much what happened.
I'd just learnt about periods and for some mad reason thought the blood must be a period.
Gp. Hospital. Stitches...nightmare

My mum went to hospital after getting orange peel deep under her fingernail! Had to have nail lifted up.

I’m well known for being clumsy. Just today I dropped a drawer on my foot and broke 2 toes... I’m 34 weeks pregnant so hobbling with a bump is pretty awful. I can’t even take pain relief

I once ran into the corner of a bright yellow rubbish skip when I was around 7, I still have the scar and dint to this day. Also got gravel rash up my face falling over playing kiss chase and I have some sight loss from that...

Done various stupid things, fingers in blenders, clasping straighteners on my ears. TBH, I can’t go a month without some kind of ridiculous injury!

Got my eyelid stuck in a zipper whilst on French exchange once. Had to endure the nickname Zippy for years after.

Not me but my brother was hit in the head with a shot putt in the 80s. Made the Times

Ooh and I shattered my coccyx when I stood on a coat and someone pulled it out from me. Then there was the time some kid (i was 10?) shoves my hand into hot glue and I got second degree burns. That was fun.

Slipped during sex on our honeymoon and caused a nearly 2inch tear near clit and along flap. It bled so much and dh kept saying it needed stitches but I refused to get fanjo out in docs In foreign place. Hobbled around for rest of honeymoon, couldn't even go swimming. Ouch!

Falling over a pile of” no “ clothes when I got back from a wedding. Took ages to recover , open fractures are horrible but the pysio afterwards was horrific.

Nowhere near some of these, but I poured a just made mug of tea down myself the day before we went on holiday. Hand sized blister on my stomach. Didn't have time to do much about it, so got some dressings from the chemist and carried on. I spent most of the holiday stood in the sea, it was soothing. Can still see where I did it, over 15 years on.

About a month ago, sprained my knee in bed, no idea how. I got out of bed and my knee just gave way. Wearing a support on it now for work, which helps a bit.

Sliced my foot open when I was 8 playing outside, after being told to wear shoes, the day before a family farm holiday. Ruined holiday.

Arguing with my sibling while stood in doorway when I was 14, sibling slammed door to get me out of their face, my pinky finger caught in the door ripping off nail. We were moving house that day and my parents had to stop in the middle of it and take me to a and e. Finger never fully recovered and now turns freezing cold if there is a storm coming.

Filling a hot water bottle with boiling water when I was 20, an air bubble in the hotty 'burped' boilng water back all over my chest, requiring skin grafts.

Passed out drunk when I was 21, catching chin and nose on corner of dresser on my way down. Bashed up my jaw and nose something awful. I have clicking and sensitivity on the left side of my jaw to this day, and relied on the subsequent accident report to get funded rhinoplasty 5 years ago!

Nope no black sponge, the black area isn’t dead muscle and tissue , to be honest there was talk I might lose my leg which terrified me as they didn’t know till they operated how deep the dead area was and if it had reached the bone they didn’t know if leg could be saved. From accident to operation was about 3 weeks

I was in hospital with a large yellow full length boot on blow up with air for a few days, it compresses my leg on and off using air pressure. It was agony and I can’t remember what the reason was
I was not walking for a few weeks

You can see originally it looked ok it turned horrible over a course of two weeks and slowly died off

That should say the black area IS dead muscle not isn’t

It’s not a sponge it’s my poor dead leg

They called it necrosis or necrotic tissue

Once it turns like that there is nothing that can be done apart from cut it away as it’s totally dead and rotten

Aged about 6, was climbing up a slide and fell onto the edge of the slide right on my fanjo.

Broke my toe when I stubbed it in a wooden sofa.

Slammed my own finger in an ambulance door when arriving at a 999 call!

Name changed.. .. broke my foot getting out of bed!

Had a football kicked at my face so hard that it burst my ear drum. I was 8 I think. I did find it quite funny that I could pinch my nostrils shut and blow out of my ear though!

@Blish1987 Are you my mum? She did that. Along with walking on two fractured tibias and subsequently a broken femur. All of those were through unknown means.

How strange! I haven't been on any of those anti biotics before. Incidentally I have just been prescribed anti biotics my the doctor and I'm not sure which ones they are. If there any of the ones you've mentioned I'm going to be terrified of doing my shoulder again. It was one of the worst years of my life 😕

A couple of years ago i broke my toe by slipping on a picnic blanket and sort of collapsing and sitting down hard on it. My own toe. My sunglasses were under me and those broke too !

Oh god. I only got partway through page 2 of this thread before I had to stop reading due to feeling queasy. My injuries seem positively pathetic in light of this thread but...

Trying to unclog a stick blender's blades without unplugging it, accidentally turned it on, shredding the tip of my right index finger.

Helping a friend move a ping pong table with the sides folded up. One side fell down, crushing three more fingers on my right hand between it and the frame.

Good thing I'm left handed.
