Don't know about the reliability of the SF chronicle. Worth noting that Maddow did a segment on the Malaysian prime minister (or president? Clearly wasn't paying enough attention to actually retain information) and how he is being investigated for corruption and how bizarre it is that Trump is so close with him, echoing similar sentiments to the article below. Jackie Speier who wrote the article is the same Congresswoman who talked about Mueller being fired once Congress was shut for the Christmas holidays and that obviously didn't come to pass so bear that in mind I suppose:

We watched that Maddow segment Pain, but honestly it was so convoluted and there were so many 'players' that I couldn't keep track! But I could follow it enough to know that "all roads lead back to Trump" at one point or another when you're dealing with political corruption that even lightly touches the US govt!

What a tangled web we weave when we practise to deceive and all that!

I have got my sticky mitts on the full report but in the interests of preserving anonymity, would be happy to send it on to anyone from a disposable email address. I found it a fascinating read!
