AIBU to just feel so hopelessly stuck

I’ve been in a women’s refuge since September and I’m getting close to breaking point. I getting to the point where I’m top of the list for housing but housing associations offer properties but don’t allow time to access funds. Ie. I had until 2pm today to find £300 in advance rent. The council will cover it but they need 48 hours at least to make arrangements. But the housing association only told me at 11am that they need that much. I’m just feeling so stuck and lost.

Sorry you're in such a horrible situation OP Flowers No real advice but wanted to bump for you. Have you tried talking to Citizens' Advice?

Have you considered a go fund me to put together a wee deposit so you have it ready next time? It might give you a cushion. Other than that I don't know what to suggest but I hope you're ok and get somewhere soon x

Does the refuge/ charity offer some sort of assistance? Do you have a support worker aware of this situation? It sounds very unhelpful when you are deemed enough of a priority to be at the top of the list.

Have you asked the council to talk to the housing association?
Sometimes there are funds that can be accessed through various organisations that may be able to help.
Have you asked the refuge to put you in touch with anyone? I was once £700 in arrears with rent, I was being supported by a mental health organisation and they awarded me £500 in funds towards the rent. There are things out there.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I’ve accessed everything they can think of. I can’t do a gofundme in case I get identified and found by the person I was fleeing. The problem is there’s no time given. Housing associations want to rent so quickly and the council will cover deposits advance rent, anything I need really. But it takes time.
