Just thought I'd give you a little update on my previous post. So I'm at work and in he walks: he's looking for a gift for his mother's birthday and could I help him? Well he's a customer I guess so i take him around all our lovely departments and in China and glass we select some lovely painted Liberty glasses, very reasonably priced and in a gift box as well. As he walks round he says, it needs to be a quality gift because otherwise she won't like it and I say 'will she tell you if she doesn't line it?' and he says, no she'll tell everyone behind his back. I was horrified and felt very sorry for him. Anyway, he was thrilled with the glasses, and I was quite envious as I'd have love them too. But no matter, I can always buy some for myself. He made a big fuss if wrapping them and posting them. So there you have it. (Please no trolling, if you don't have anything nice to say, scroll don't troll).

Is this the man who gave you chutney for Christmas?

lilypoppet · 24/02/2018 18:59

Yes, LOL. Thought I'd give you an update!

Huh? Any chance of an abridged version please OP?

Whatshallidonowpeople · 24/02/2018 19:50

Who is HE?? Surely glasses won't get through the post Ok?

mikeyssister · 24/02/2018 21:49

I honestly don't know what to say OP. I understood why you were upset over the chutney, because although you'd set a limit he could still have done so much more. And then he was the same at Valentines.

So I suppose the question is why did he come to you? Was he trying to explain why he buys better presents for his mother or just oblivious to how insensitive he was being?

mikeyssister · 24/02/2018 21:55

Also What was the other present under the tree?

lilypoppet · 25/02/2018 08:25

The glasses posted fine as they were in a sturdy box. The gift under the tree was toiletries from Superdrug like the Moulton Brown ones, just they cost £2.99. I've realised he doesn't know how I feel and he comes to me because I'm good at choosing gifts, as I work in a shop full of them and I know the stock well.

Ah I forgot that. I really think you and him need to talk.

My DH doesn't usually do great presents, in fact I have a box of things I've picked up and he chooses from them; but he shows he loves me in so many small ways that the presents just don't matter. But it's taken us 21 yeats to get here.

Eliza9917 · 25/02/2018 15:00

What did he give you for Valentine's Day?

Flutterbyeee · 25/02/2018 15:27

Cannot imagine being so arrogant to think I am as memorable as you think you are.

hmmwhatatodo · 25/02/2018 15:35

Have I just stepped into a private members club?

mikeyssister · 25/02/2018 17:22

@hmmwhatatodo just a few of OPs previous posts

lilypoppet · 25/02/2018 17:28

Flutterbyee please read OP which expressly asked you to scroll don't troll.

Flutterbyeee isn't trolling. It's a genuine point - a lot of people won't know what you're talking about and it would have been helpful to have made it clear.

NoCanoe · 25/02/2018 18:05

I have to admit, this confused the hell out of me.
A link to the chutney thread would have helped!
