Had our old car seat nicked from back of family members car- it was in there as they were taking it to the the tip for us after it bad been in an accident (car written off). Makes me feel a bit better sick that someone else might be buying it second hand when it's not safe. 
It was an expensive brand rear facing one so probably being sold.
