as in, expensive. Aibu to think there can't be anything appreciably or sufficiently different about the toast that comes out of a £199 2-slice toaster, compared to a £9.97 one - these are currently the dearest and cheapest options at J Lewis.....

No toaster beats a gas grill

My mum and dad have a fancy ££££ toaster and I swear it makes crap toast! If we stay with them and I have the same brand bread and butter I have at home for toast, it's rubbish there! It seems to dry out the bread as it toasts so instead of being squishy on the inside and crispy on the outside it's just like a giant ryvita awful man cheap Next home one does perfect toast!

I spent £30 on one and tbh I thought it was the height of extravagance.

Praisebe I've got a £9 Sainsbury's basic toaster that's got slots that adjust to any thickness of bread and toasts 4 slices at once. My DD's DP has just spent £119 on a 4-slice toaster with slots that are so small that you have to cut the end off every slice of bread to fit them in...
Even if mine only lasts for 3 years (it's 2 years old at the moment), I can buy another 12 before I've spent as much... My last toaster cost £5 from Argos and lasted for 8 years... I'll stick with the cheapies

I am an expert in killing off toasters, i get things stuck in them then prise it out with a knife i would be too scared to use a fancy pants on a £10 job does me fine
