To ask if you make money from matched betting how many hours you put in?

Just that really, I've recently become aware of matched betting and (like 99% of the population) wouldn't mind a few extra quid here and there.

If you do matched betting can you dip in and out as time allows, or do you need to be quite regimented about it? If for example my aim was £500 a month what levels of effort would be required?

Surely if it's piss easy everyone would just give up work and do it?

Thanks in advance!

I did it back in the hey day and spent about 20 minutes a day.

I don’t do it anymore as the offers dried up and gubbing happened.

vandrew4 · 20/02/2018 16:55

I make about £2000 a month and do about 4 hours a day

vandrew4 · 20/02/2018 16:56

You can dip in and out, the reason lots of people don't do it is because they assume it's a scam /iillegal/ gambling.

Tobuyornot99 · 20/02/2018 17:04

I'm Shock at £2,000 a month, that's a 30k salary equivalent for 4 hours a day, wow!

Just googled gubbing, I guess it stands to reason the bookies don't like matched betting!

Would a float of £100 be enough to give it a go do you think?

Thanks for all the replies.

Try it and see! I average £400 a month mostly in the evenings while I'm watching shit on tv and lunchtime. Getting less though as my gub list grows!

Tobuyornot99 · 20/02/2018 17:17

titchy perhaps I'll swap my MN addiction for matched betting, I waste enough time faffing about on my phone so may as well try to make some money.

I'd be wary about matched betting. It's not meant to affect your credit score going down as a soft search but my DH availed of a free bet and his credit score went down 100 points! He asked the credit score company and they said no searches had been made on his account other than the betting one so they surmised it must be that.

BatFacedGirl · 20/02/2018 17:59

I made almost 10k from it in 2016

We were able to tackle the big offers immediately as we had a large ‘bank’ and we also had some big wins on the bingo and horses.

Like a PP says, the offers dry up and being gubbed happens, no matter how good you think you’re being at behaving like a normal punter.

So I enjoyed it while it lasted. Was putting in an hour a day or so.

Tobuyornot99 · 20/02/2018 18:55

Bat would you mind telling me about the bingo, did you have a strategy or just look online for the best offers for stake matching?

Can anyone explain what matched betting is . Thanks x

kyrenialady · 20/02/2018 19:01

I have been doing it since October 2015 and average between £400-£600 a month. It has got a lot harder to make money. I have lost quite a few bookies. A lot of my profit comes from risk free or low risk casino offers now.

I am also a member of profit accumulator.

BatFacedGirl · 20/02/2018 19:23

A sort of strategy! I'd go and play bingo on a weekday afternoon usually so it wasn't too busy. I'd pop a tenner in the account to unlock the offer and usually end up playing with about £45. I'd then go and place that £45 as quickly as possible and on as many games as possible. My biggest bingo win was £750! They usually were around £100.

I exhausted all the bingo offers and then stopped doing bingo

BatFacedGirl · 20/02/2018 19:28

Little Nicky - why not have a look at profit accumulator website and that explains it in detail?

Put basically, you place a bet and then you go elsewhere to an exchange and you lay the bet off. Placing the best unlocks a specific offer if one is available and you cannot lose your money. It's not actually betting

MermaidTailUnicornHorn · 20/02/2018 19:54

Well bookies don’t like it so tend to ban your IP address and you have to actually have the offers there.
