People love to shit on it but I really enjoyed Paranormal Activity Blush

BikeRunSki · 18/02/2018 23:17

Catch Me If You Can
True story, funny, stylish

CanIhavedessertfirst · 18/02/2018 23:18

Everyone always thinks mine is a weird choice - The Wicker man, as in the original 1979 Edward Woodward one.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 18/02/2018 23:19

Inside Out Blush

I know it's not very high brow, but I identify with Sadness and love how the film shows that being all upbeat and positive isn't necessarily the best way to deal with things, because life is nuanced and complicated.

vandrew4 · 18/02/2018 23:19

oohh, love the wicker man but will also throw in tampopo

DingDongDenny · 18/02/2018 23:22

Not weird at all canIhave also love the Wicker Man, also of the same era I loved Betty Blue and Angel Heart

BonnieF · 18/02/2018 23:24

The Godfather part 2

Even better than the original, with De Niro’s astonishing performance as the young Vito Corleone.

SummerRoberts · 18/02/2018 23:25

True Romance is my all time favourite. I just love it so much.
Close contenders are:
Bridesmaids
La La Land
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet and his Great Gatsby too.

UnicornRainbowColours · 18/02/2018 23:27

Gone with the wind

jollyjester · 18/02/2018 23:31

unicorn mine is also Gone with the Wind.

Although I love films and would happily pick one from every decade!

SneakyGremlins · 18/02/2018 23:32

Life of Pi!

CanIhavedessertfirst · 18/02/2018 23:32

@vandrew4 @DingDongDenny I'm so pleased to find more Wicker man fans! When they had to guess my favourite film at my hen, not one of my friends even knew of it and one was appalled that I liked "an old fashioned" film.

Marinade · 18/02/2018 23:34

The Shining is superb.

calzone · 18/02/2018 23:34

Dead Poets Society

Hippadippadation · 18/02/2018 23:51

1 - The Wizard of Oz
2 - Field Of Dreams
3 - Cool Runnings

T2517 · 19/02/2018 08:11

Moulin Rouge, the wedding date (unashamed chick flick nonsense but I love it), phantom of the opera, Tangled, Hercules (the Disney one)

LoopyLou1981 · 19/02/2018 08:20

A second vote for Shawshank Redemption but I also love the Green Mile x

Willow2017 · 19/02/2018 09:08

I love 'the wicker man' too maybe not my fav film ever but a classic and it really pushed the boundaries at its time. (The book is great too and has much more background story to the island and the policeman)

I couldnt possibly pick one film out of all genres.
All 'Alien' franchise.
All LOTR and The Hobbit.
The Best Marigold Hotel
Love Actually (despite the rubbishing it gets on here its just a good escape from crap in RL film😀)
All 'Harry Potter'
Shawshank/the green mile are excellent but cant watch them over and over again as too upsetting.

Close encounters
Poltergeist
Jaws (watched again recently and still as good as first time)
'As good as it gets' brill film.

Several already mentioned. See told you it was impossible 😀

ShatnersBassoon · 19/02/2018 09:11

The Remains of the Day
The Grand Budapest Hotel
In Bruges

vampirethriller · 19/02/2018 10:47

From Dusk till Dawn
Conan the barbarian (original)
Ed Wood

Areyoufree · 19/02/2018 10:52

Angel heart.

HildaZelda · 19/02/2018 18:31

24 years on (I was 14 when it was released) and it's still Four Weddings and a Funeral.
24 years on and I STILL can't figure out why he picked Andie McDowell when he could have had Kristin Scott Thomas.

KST. EVERYTIME!

cloudyweewee · 19/02/2018 18:36

West Side Story

blueyacht · 19/02/2018 18:37

Tootsie

throwcushions · 19/02/2018 18:40

Not sure I have a favourite, but I loved The Philadelphia Story and pretty much all Katharine Hepburn / Cary Grant comedies

Others that have really stuck with me - Giant, On The Waterfront, Days of Heaven and Grand Budapest Hotel
