And why

I will start

Len Goodman partners in rhyme - how that show has plus 1 series is beyond me.

Can't stand Friends. Couldn't as a 13 year old, can't as a 33 year old. Just no.

Miranda also makes my teeth itch (great phrase PP).

Anything with James Corden in.

Ha, can't believe people are defending red dwarf. It's just... awful Grin

See also "bottom" and "the young ones". Did not get those at all.

FlyingMonkeys · 19/02/2018 09:36

Eldorado.....

sunshinestorm · 19/02/2018 09:40

The Big Bang Theory and a lot of the similar American sit com type things. You can watch clips on YouTube without the canned laughter and it makes you realise just how unfunny it is.

SaskaTchewan · 19/02/2018 09:55

I love friends! It is just a soap, it is supposed to be nonsense, unrealistic, very lighthearted. I still find it funny because nothing is to be taken too seriously, it's short and very light. It still makes me laugh today

I agree that it would be a hell of a lot better without the canned laughter.

Wayfarersonbaby · 19/02/2018 09:56

Got to be Mrs Brown's Boys. There is nothing, nothing that redeems it.

Skittlesss · 19/02/2018 10:02

Eurotrash Hmm

SpikeGilesSandwich · 19/02/2018 11:53

Gogglebox, biggest pile of shite ever.

Emabrmsca · 19/02/2018 12:10

Peppa pig.

LightDrizzle · 19/02/2018 12:12

“Stab in the Dark” - it was my first introduction to Michael Gove. It was so awful, that Private Eye (I think) reported in their Square Eyes column that people at Channel 4 were walking around wearing stickers saying “I had nothing to do with Stab in the Dark”.
Anyone else remember it?

MissionItsPossible · 19/02/2018 12:23

According to Jim. One of the most disgustingly arrogant characters ever created for tv.

Anything that shows spoiled children like My Super Sweet Sixteen or Rich Kids of Beverley Hills. Oh also the awful Housewives series. I can’t believe how many people are willing to embarrass themselves on those shows.

MissionItsPossible · 19/02/2018 12:25

@SaskaTchewan

There’s videos of Friends on YouTube without the canned laughter. Trust me, the canned laughter improves it. The jokes fall embarrassingly flat without it.

MissionItsPossible · 19/02/2018 12:26

Oh I see sunshine already addressed that in the comment before yours Blush

PEARSON93 · 19/02/2018 12:27

Arrested development.

I just don't get why it's funny? My DH finds it hilarious.

beepthemeep · 19/02/2018 12:33

reality "tv" like big brother and that gogglebox shite.

There are so many talented writers and actors who'd love the chance to have a show on tv. Instead the networks go for the cheap reality tv shite - and also manage to make some really pointless and stupid people famous into the bargain. That in turn sets a terrible example to kids about what you need to do in order to be famous.

It all gives me the rage!

Katedotness1963 · 19/02/2018 12:37

I loved Rome.

I don't know what the programme I've hated the most is called because I only watched a few minutes and that was enough!

A couple met in a dark room, they get to know each other for an amount of time, then leave without seeing each other. They're interviewed and put into separate booths. The the booth lights up and the give their opinion of the other person, which they hear. (Not exactly sure how it went but this is the bit where I turned off).

The woman thought they got on like a house on fire, has seen him, says how cute he is, then her booth lights up and he can see her...he was fucking vile about her. She just had to stand there while they filmed her looking crushed, you could almost see her getting a small as she felt at that moment. I thought, wtf? This is what we're considering entertainment now??

LaurieFairyCake · 19/02/2018 12:41

Mrs Browns Boys

Watched 10 minutes and actually got angry. Horrible show.

Can’t bear Miranda, any of those Strictly shows, soaps like Eastenders and Emmerdale/Corrie - wasted years watching this crap

Also watched all of Peaky Blinders and no idea why I watched it. Thought I liked it, had to get to the end. Didn’t like it.

There are just do many terrible programmes but the two that come instantly to mind are two Broke Girls and the remake of Will and Grace. Eastenders goes without saying.

Pointlessfact · 24/02/2018 23:07

The mummy diaries

redexpat · 24/02/2018 23:17

Gilmpre girls. Recommended on mn. Watched 3 seasons and kept thinking, ok the next episode will be where it starts getting good. I quite like Rory but not Lorelai. Just shut up and stop trying to be cute and adorable.

ManicUnicorn · 24/02/2018 23:21

Years ago there was a 'sitcom' on BBC1 about a mixed race, blended family staring Jasper Carrott as the father. It was truely the worst progamme Ive ever watched, just drivel.

OutsideContextProblem · 24/02/2018 23:28

A Stab In The Dark was properly horrendous. What were they thinking? In particular who looked at the young, unknown, Michael Gove and thought “He’ll make a great TV Star!”?
