So given up crisps for lent, not a religious person, more a weight loss thing.

Any way, I bought salt n vinegar snak-a-jaks, I never thought they were crisps just flavoured cardboard, but OH, has said they're crisps WTF!!

So yes or no, are they crisps??

Rice cakes and popcorn are not crisps. You’re perhaps cheating but can be let off on a technicality as you failed to specify all crisp like snacks.

Mrsmadevans · 17/02/2018 18:52

I have never heard of salt & vinegar flavoured condoms , I haven't lived Grin

pictish · 17/02/2018 18:56

Not crisps imo.

AnathemaPulsifer · 17/02/2018 18:58

Rice cakes convert quickly to sugar after eating, it's one of the highest glycemic index foods. Not a healthy choice.

TBF it doesn't really matter what they are. If you've given up crisps for weight loss then stop eating them! Eat nothing or fruit/crudités instead. Munching away on snack a jacks isn't going to help much. I know it's hard, but if you're going to do it, really do it!

Notevilstepmother · 17/02/2018 19:02

YABU for eating cardboard. Yuk.

KurriKurri · 17/02/2018 19:11

Of course they aren't crisps. Crisps are made out of potatoes. They are made out of rice.
Your OH is mad. (Sorry, but you need to know so you can get him some help Grin)

The caramel ones are really nice (snack a jacks that is - no idea about condoms)

Thehogfather · 17/02/2018 19:21

Yabu to buy or eat snack a crap. They aren't tasty, filling, or packed with essential nutrients so just why would anyone eat them?

And pointless for dieting in that the main thing is changing bad habits, like snacking on food you don't need. So exchanging crisps for inedible card is pretty pointless in the long run. Much better to try and break the habit and keep crisps or whatever as a treat every so often.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 17/02/2018 19:36

Hmmm. They are technically rice cakes not crisps.

But Jesus knows that, morally, you are breaking lent. You're only fooling yourself, you know.
