Crack on! Eating with mouth open is vile!
YANBU to throw popcorn over his head!

skippykips · 14/02/2018 21:03

Oh, hang on, how old is DSS?

mumpoints · 14/02/2018 21:09

My sister and I were discussing this the other day when DS (aged 3) was eating with his mouth open. (To be fair he has got a cold so was finding it hard to breathe.) Sister said that her son started to close his mouth at around 2-3 after constant reminders. I said DS would do it if reminded. And then we both remembered a cousin who was still doing it in his twenties!

Think it's down to remembering to remind them to a certain extent.

Can you not just tell him to chew with his mouth closed?

DayManAahhh · 14/02/2018 21:33

I think we can give 2-3 year olds a bit of a break ffs.

Assuming your dss is older I would give him a few gentle reminders to see if he catches on. If not throw the empty bucket at him. Because why waste good popcorn.

dd's friend was over for tea last week and I'd forgotten that she chews like a camel.

Not my place to say to her but it was pretty absurd. If it were DD I would have mentioned. It's doing her no favours in the long run.

14?! He needs to be told. It's disgusting to eat with your mouth open.
