www.transgendertrend.com/schools-resources/

A fantastic resource

So that's not what I said, is it. I'm tired of this trans stuff everywhere. I would like it to be clearly marked instead of given a clickbait title. As I'm an adult who can control my reactions and what I post, I'm expressing that.

gillybeanz · 13/02/2018 17:27

I'm sorry but it's becoming like a fashion now, just like gay and lesbian trends in the past.
it will soon settle down when trans people have the rights they want, then we'll find what a very few percent of the population consider themselves trans.
I feel sorry for the kids who previously thought they had their gender and sex identified, to be given all this stuff and make them question themselves.
If the time comes when boys with willies, calling themselves girls are forced to share dorms with girls, such as my dd, she will leave the school straight away.

Gilly did you read the materials?

Laud - why so cross?

laudanum · 13/02/2018 19:51

I am so fucking sick of these endless anti trans threads.

Mrsmiguelcervantes · 13/02/2018 20:54

It’s a great, sensible guide and I will send it to my school.

Do you know laudanum, I’m sick to the back fucking teeth of trans issues too. But these people and their misogynistic, dangerous ideology are about to get the law changed in Scotland so that there is no longer any such thing as women only spaces. They are invading women’s sports. Scholarships. Jobs. Prisons. Hospital wards. Men, colonising womanhood and all of the rights we have gained in the past century. They are in our schools telling young children that if they don’t conform to their narrow gender stereotypes then there is something wrong with their bodies and they need to be put on medication that will leave them sterile, and have bits of their healthy bodies cut off. That boys who say they are girls can use the girls toilets and changing rooms and the girls can just put up with it else they are hateful bigots who need re-education.

It is beyond scandalous. It is terrifying. It is only going to get worse unless we all keep speaking out.

So yes, sorry you’re bored of this, bout you’d better get used to it being everywhere on mumsnet as women continue to wake up to this horrific assault on our rights.

MorningsEleven · 13/02/2018 21:05

I'll be going into my child's school and warning them away from this TERF attempt to bully, belittle and deny basic human rights to trans children.

Mrsmiguelcervantes · 13/02/2018 21:16

Morning, presumably the teachers in your school are a bit more intelligent than you clearly are and will be able to see that this a well thought out common sense piece of guidance that counters the absolute lunacy of the current guidance which throws girls under a very large bus, encourages unscientific beliefs being taught, and supports dangerous and unhealthy in some case self harming practices in children who need to be left alone to develop into who they are rather than told their body is wrong and needs to be surgically corrected.

SeparatedByMotorways · 13/02/2018 21:25

I generally steer clear of trans threads because, as stated upthread, they're an echo chamber. It's heartening to see other posters on this one calling this out for the crap that it is.

Trans rights aren't an assault on women's rights. Jeez.

SmileEachDay · 13/02/2018 21:27

this TERF attempt to bully, belittle and deny basic human rights to trans children.

Which human rights are being denied?
What bullying and belittling?

Could you quote specific sections?

MorningsEleven · 13/02/2018 21:30

@Mrsmiguelcervantes

They are indeed intelligent. And informed, supportive, inclusive and tolerant.

I don't appreciate you saying this: presumably the teachers in your school are a bit more intelligent than you clearly are. It's very rude and shows you in a poor light.

Lovesagin · 13/02/2018 21:30

Great resource thanks for sharing op! Will share with the HT and let all the other (many!) parents I know who are concerned know about it

busyboysmum · 13/02/2018 21:33

I've forwarded to my friend who is a teacher to see what she thinks of it. It seemed pretty sensible and balanced to me. Have those who are moaning actually read it?

Mrsmiguelcervantes · 13/02/2018 21:33

Trans rights are the biggest assault on women’s rights in decades. Go over to the Feminism boards and bring yourself up to speed. Rapists in women’s prisons. Men winning women’s sports competitions. Men taking jobs designated for women - see Lily Madigan. Men bullying organisations into allowing them into women only spaces.

Wake up.

Mrsmiguelcervantes · 13/02/2018 21:34

Morning, anyone who uses the misogynistic slur ‘terf’ to describe a well written reasonable guide is clearly not very bright.

picklemepopcorn · 13/02/2018 21:38

Separated.. 'Trans rights aren't an assault on women's rights. Jeez.'

So who is it that fell off the Jo Cox programme to make space for a TIM? Who isn't on an all women shortlist, to make space for a TIM? Who didn't win a weightlifting championship that was won by a TIM?

Not women obviously. Oh wait....

Dipitydoda · 13/02/2018 21:39

I sick to death of trans rights being forced down everyone’s throats at the expense of everyone else’s rights. Women only spaces, bathrooms, changing rooms, women’s sports, hospital wards etc need to remain
Split according to biology. The reason they are split male and female in the first place is for safety based on biology. No ones rights trump safety.

Rebeccaslicker · 13/02/2018 21:41

Why is not wanting women's rights to be eroded "anti trans"?

Trans people should be able to do whatever the hell they like without censure or discrimination. But that doesn't include the shouty activists telling women how to be women or what women are!

picklemepopcorn · 13/02/2018 21:42

This is who Transgendertrend are:

We come from diverse backgrounds, some with expertise in child development and psychology, some who were themselves extreme gender non-conforming children and adolescents, some whose own children have self-diagnosed as ‘trans’ and some who know supportive trans adults who are also questioning recent theories of ‘transgenderism.’

We are concerned that the increased public awareness of transgender issues has led to parents worrying unnecessarily about normal childhood behaviours.

They are very clearly dangerous bigots.

Oh wait....

itsgettinghotinhere80 · 13/02/2018 21:45

Hear hear mrsmiguel I've no need to send it to my DCs school at present as they seem to be managing to avoid all this nonsense, but I'd have no hesitation sending it if they were.

I do believe women as a whole are slowly waking up to the threat posed by trans activists though, about time!

picklemepopcorn · 13/02/2018 21:45

The hateful people, IMO, are those encouraging young butch lesbians to have mastectomies and young gay boys to .... Well. There we are.

Let people be gender non conforming. No one minds.

BoneyBackJefferson · 13/02/2018 21:47

laudanum
I am so fucking sick of these endless anti trans threads.

If its anti-trans to put in ways of safeguarding children against those that are clearly pushing an agenda then so be it.

The whole system needs to have the proper checks and measures in place so that children are not being hurt by those pushing them to be something that they may or may not be.

HumphreyCobblers · 13/02/2018 21:50

So a group of random parents thought they would put together some resources for schools. So helpful, and not at all trying to push their own agenda.....

That is a pretty good description of Mermaids to be fair.

beluga425 · 13/02/2018 21:52

So the way I see it is Mermaids are just people who feel strongly about Trans, this is just another group with a different opinion.
Just interesting to see another side of a currently very, very well worn debate.

laudanum · 13/02/2018 22:05

Oh good MN edited the title. Now folks can guess what’s going to be riddled with terfs and avoid it.
