The so called "Hot cross buns crime" Discussion of the day has been a discussion of the day since Monday!

Does anyone else get annoyed at this?

Preparing myself for being told to "get a life," etc!

The hot cross bun thread has had 5 messages today...yet there it is on the top of the discussions of the decade day.

Surely there are plenty of threads that are new this morning, that have had more traffic than three posts today?

Getting bogged down in the banal workings, I know!

If I report myself, will mn explain how this works?

I think I'll be sad to see Hot Cross Buns moved now...it's become part of the mumsnet fixtures and fittings, almost, and best biccies isn't far behind.

I wonder if anyone has ever started a thread where they have been the exclusive poster(s).

I wonder if I keep typing on my own thread, it might make the discussion of the day list.

I think I'm going to carry out a scientific experiment, because I'm procrastinating over doing relentless HW, and mn is a welcome distraction.

And a to help me focus, whilst I pretend I'm busy carry out my important mumsnet voluntary scientific experiment type work!

To be fair, Hot Cross Buns are important, especially in the run up to Easter!

Discussions of the day is meaningless . As you say it refreshes about once a week. Can't see the point of having it there at all.

Mine is showing the same rather old threads, though 'trending' is up to date.

I'm not afraid to admit that I failed to grasp the importance of the relationship between:-

the butter
the hot cross bun
the consumer's personal preference
what all of the above says about the toaster of the HCB (Hot Cross Bun) and the state of their relationship!

I'm up to 2 pages now.

But have just had a terrible thought...

What if one of the determining factors of whether or not a thread reaches discussions of teh day status is the number of different posters, not the number of posts?

If I swear and say something really rude and abusive (to myself), and report myself to mn, will they remove a post, and then will getting one of those links to guidelines up my chances....?

Will I just come across as insane as well as bored?

Should I get my DH to set up an account, get him to post on this thread, to increase a) the number of postees, and b) the number of posts?
