skilledintheartofnothing · 08/02/2018 15:16

Am now waiting for OP's mum to update advising that daughter is now laying in hospital in a coma....
Possibly waiting for true loves kiss come to think of it ....

Sweetpea55 · 08/02/2018 15:17

Oh my gawd,,,,,AND a chest infection...dear me,...lol...

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 08/02/2018 15:17

No more Climbing when ill for you young lady!

Springtrolls · 08/02/2018 15:17

My surgery you get seen really quickly. You go online, fill in some details about what's wrong.
A GP calls you back and triages you over the phone, and if you have to go in they book you in. Plus there's hardly anyone waiting in reception.

I did my form at 1 today. I have seen the gp and now sitting at home with my meds.

So the quick nhs gp is plausible.

Snacktimonious · 08/02/2018 15:17

Our local surgery go mad if you turn up with a case of flu

Most people don't though because if you have flu you can barely get out of bed for the loo, let alone leave the house. Proper genuine flu that is. Sometimes a nasty virus can feel like flu but if you can get to a surgery it probably isn't.

Amber0685 · 08/02/2018 15:17

How's your bp OP?

RavenLG · 08/02/2018 15:17

My parents came over my dm took one look at me and took me straight to my gp who diagnosed flu, tonsillitis, a chest infection and on my dm telling him about me going dizzy he checked my ears and I've also got an ear infection.
Please share DP details where you can just walk in without an appointment and get diagnosed with all of that within an hour. They could save the NHS!!

To all the snotty, sarcastic posters on this thread who felt the the need to tell me to grow up, stop being a wimp and called me pathetic I hope it makes you feel loads better about yourselves. My post was about it being unreasonable me asking my dp to nip home and get down medication from the top of a kitchen cupboard
You're ill not disabled. Biscuit

ginch · 08/02/2018 15:18

Such an unsympathetic lot on here. Grin

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 08/02/2018 15:19

So the quick nhs gp is plausible.

All being done in about an hour including getting OP to the GP, getting back home and posting, however.....

gingergenius · 08/02/2018 15:19

Biscuit would you like a cup of tea with it to go with your lovely story???

MissionItsPossible · 08/02/2018 15:20

Flu is extremely debilitating. You wouldn't even be on MN never mind making (up) posts

Redhead17 · 08/02/2018 15:21

Should called for the air ambulance they could if lowered a doctor through the ceiling to get your off the work top

Was the GP waiting outside for you like they do on 24 hours in A&E

Sweetpea55 · 08/02/2018 15:21

Oh for the 'LIKE button again..

teaiseverything · 08/02/2018 15:21

As I mentioned earlier, I am chronically ill. Two of these disabling illnesses mean I often have to go to A&E (part of treatment plan) for an IV cocktail if things are in a flare and not settling down. I despair every time I'm there after I've taken a really distressing bus or taxi by myself, stopping or getting off to puke, only to end up sitting in the waiting room with a minimum of 2 people who are there for a "cough that isn't going away" or something similarly non-urgent. You strike me as one of those OP. Good god.

Mumsymcmumface · 08/02/2018 15:22

I fear this post didn’t get the attention it deserves.

OP you have my sympathy. I'm home with the flu feeling awful and wouldn't want to be standing on chairs either. Dh has left my tablets, drinks and a list of times to take them next to me and has set alarms on my phone in case I'm asleep!

Alarms on the phone for paracetamol and lemsip! Amazing.

I'm crying with laughter here,,

gingergenius · 08/02/2018 15:23

Dizziness you say??? Surely it must be labrinthitis to add to your multiple diagnoses. A veritable cornucopia of contagion!!!!

VioletCharlotte · 08/02/2018 15:23

Blimey... you managed to get a GP appointment that quickly? You have to be at deaths door to get a same day appointment where I live.

SneakyGremlins · 08/02/2018 15:24

It'll be like an episode of House at this rate Grin

diddl · 08/02/2018 15:25

Why did the sillyarse put your meds where you can't reach them?

Snacktimonious · 08/02/2018 15:29

I think we might all get the current Australian flu as punishment for this. We should make sure the Lemsip is in within easy reach.

LetBartletBeBartlet · 08/02/2018 15:32

Thank heavens your mother was there to take you to the GP and come in and speak for you too

NotACleverName · 08/02/2018 15:33

Did you die though? 🤔
