My parents came over my dm took one look at me and took me straight to my gp who diagnosed flu, tonsillitis, a chest infection and on my dm telling him about me going dizzy he checked my ears and I've also got an ear infection. To all the snotty, sarcastic posters on this thread who felt the the need to tell me to grow up, stop being a wimp and called me pathetic I hope it makes you feel loads better about yourselves. My post was about it being unreasonable me asking my dp to nip home and get down medication from the top of a kitchen cupboard

Jesus that's almost a bingo card full of diagnosis there.

Well done OP Wink

Easyonthetonic · 08/02/2018 15:00

So your mummy got you an instant appointment with the GP and you have everything wrong with you.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 08/02/2018 15:01

All that and you can still post.

Wow OP can we all have your GP details please. I have very serious health issues that are life limiting. I can't get an appointment in less than an hour.

WooWooSister · 08/02/2018 15:01

How lucky that the GP had an immediately available appointment. With dizziness and an ear infection, you'd be better staying off the computer and MN.

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 08/02/2018 15:05

All that diagnosed within the hour? In an nhs surgery?

Cannot. Stop. Laughing Grin

Strokethefurrywall · 08/02/2018 15:06

To all the snotty, sarcastic posters on this thread who felt the the need to tell me to grow up, stop being a wimp and called me pathetic I hope it makes you feel loads better about yourselves.

It does actually.

OuchLegoHurts · 08/02/2018 15:07

Still unreasonable, yes, most definitely.

Snacktimonious · 08/02/2018 15:07

Jesus that's almost a bingo card full of diagnosis there

With all that, a home visit would have been in order. It's a wonder that dh hadn't noticed how wretchedly ill his dw is. It takes a mother to know though, dunnit?

Strokethefurrywall · 08/02/2018 15:08

I'm waiting for the drip feed from the OP to say she doesn't life in the UK and so not on NHS Smile

Keep em coming OP, this thread is a mumsnet finest!

Wellfuckmeinbothears · 08/02/2018 15:08

Of course you have.

Glad mummy dearest sorted it.

I'm with your dh, I'd laugh at you too.

BitOutOfPractice · 08/02/2018 15:09

Your mom cake in the appointment with you?!

And just a tip op, if you’re going to make bullshit like this up, best not over egg that lurgy pudding.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 08/02/2018 15:09

Our local surgery go mad if you turn up with a case of flu. There are posters everywhere and an automated phone message telling you to stay at home if you suspect flu.

Get well soon. You must feel like death with that triple whammy of infections and the flu virus.

Gazelda · 08/02/2018 15:10

But OP, why didn't you just call your parents to come and reach the meds down for you?
I'd be horrifically embarrassed if my DH called for me to come home from work for such a minor reason when I was due home in an hour anyway.
Anyway, it sounds as though everyone is rallying round you now. I hope you feel better quickly.

Yes it entirely, blatantly, completely was. HTH.

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 08/02/2018 15:12

LOL

That is all

Caprinihahahaha · 08/02/2018 15:12

Could you tell me where your gp is because it sounds marvellous.

I’m impressed that you are updating MN when you are so incredibly unwell. It’s quite the public service.
When I’m so ill I have to be taken to the GP my posting on chat boards drops away. I’m such a wimp

TheOrigRightsofwomen · 08/02/2018 15:13

Suspect you do not have flu if you are able to type on the internet.

TheNaze73 · 08/02/2018 15:13

Fingers crossed that you pull through OP

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 08/02/2018 15:13

Are you definitely not exaggerating your illnesses here? Grin A chest, tonsil and ear infection and flu? You wouldn't be able to get your head off the pillow surely.

lookingforthecorkscrew · 08/02/2018 15:14

I was gushing blood from my vagina at 16 weeks pregnant and even then I had to wait an hour for a dr to see me.

This OP is something else!

SneakyGremlins · 08/02/2018 15:14

Might be a bit touch and go from the sound of it Naze. Hope OP hasn't fallen into a lurgy coma Shock

WunWegWunDarWun · 08/02/2018 15:15

Wow Grin

SwarmOfCats · 08/02/2018 15:15

“The GP diagnosed me as having expired after standing on a chair. I hope you’re all happy with yourselves”.

In answer to your original question, as you obviously had parents willing and able to help, yes, you would have been very unreasonable to call your husband at work. Terrible that he laughed at you despite you being so very, very ill though.
