to be really cross at "losing" my jumper?

It was stolen in the pub last night. A lovely cosy Mint Velvet one. Not expensive because I bought it in the sale, but for that reason hard to replace. Not the cost particularly, but "finding" something to replace it.

I'm not a good shopper at the best of times and find knitwear particularly difficult because I prefer to avoid acrylic as it's not warm but also hate itchy, which I find a lot of wool is.

I am very cross that I'd found the answer to all my problems and now it's gone Sad

Lost or stolen? Where was it?

Tipsntoes · 04/02/2018 16:14

Stolen. My scarf went too but I wasn't as fond of that. They were on the back of my chair.

Unfortunately unattended items are easy pickings. That's why I never hang my bag on the back of my chair!

allthecheese · 04/02/2018 16:16

Can you look on eBay for the same one?

BernardSpilsbury · 04/02/2018 16:17

That's a big shame. I'd be sad too.

Perfect excuse to treat yourself to a new one.

Dancing in the disco, bumper to bumper...

babyccinoo · 04/02/2018 16:20

I would be cross at myself for leaving them unattended, yes. Pubs are prime targets.

flightchecker · 04/02/2018 16:25

Which one was it?

southboundagain · 04/02/2018 16:36

I'd keep an eye out on ebay - people are quite keen to resell clothes from brands they think they might get a bit of money from.

Tipsntoes · 04/02/2018 17:10

Nice bit of victim blaming there Babyccinoo Wink

Sorry, maybe you just need a bit of sympathy! It sucks I know.

Falsepriest... yes! I'm singing that too Grin. Sorry op.

I lost a favourite coat in a local restaurant - it had been hung up by the staff but was help-yourself at the end of the evening - and a similar but much smaller and tattier one was left. Wasn't sure if it had been taken by accident or stolen. After a week the restaurant said it hadn't been returned and paid for a new one (amazingly found the exact same 10 year old coat from Laura Ashley on Ebay - so don't give up hope!). Actually mine had not been stolen - it was returned to a restaurant a month later, so I now have two. Do you have a photo of yours so that we can all keep our eyes peeled on Ebay?

Hassled · 04/02/2018 22:20

I sympathise - I spent £60 on the perfect work dress, heavily reduced in the sales. Then I washed and tumble dried it with all the other laundry because I am a total muppet and it would now fit a slim toddler. Like you, it was the answer to all my problems and now it's gone. It sucks.

I agree ebay is your friend here. I had some lovely jumpers from before losing weight and pretty much replaced all of them through ebay over time!
