Trampoline Ettiquette

We've just moved into a new house and we're trying to think where to erect the kid's trampoline.
I want to put it up round the corner (L shaped garden) so we don't have the eyesore of having it directly outside our living room window..
OH says that if we put it round the corner it'll be impacting on the neighbors because it overlooks their garden, which isn't fair on them.

Who's right?

Some people really just don't thunk. My dh was like op when we were putting ours up - he didn't consider the neighbours at all, he was initially going to put it right next to heir fence. It is next to the wall of their garage now so doesn't impact on them at all and right in front of our conservatory so easy to supervise them, I don't care if its an eyesore. I make them come in if they are fighting outside as I don't think anyone should have to hear that, but otherwise they don't make too much noise.

I work shifts so am very conscious of noise when trying to sleep during the day, I have to say the noise of children never bothers me, it is incessant dog barking that drives me insane - I am surprised to see so many posters irritated by the noise of children playing!

Every summer there is a spate of mysterious slashing of trampolines in our village. I think I've just see why.

It isn't kids playing that's the problem, it's the fact that kids can't resist having a nosy at what's going on in our house (our garden isn't long like theirs).

I'd be childish and have some large signs in the garden with comments about CF neighbours, nosy kids etc.

I used to love watching my kids bouncing and laughing away on their trampoline,I would understand if my neighbours didn't however. You are wrong to want to shove the trampoline and your kids out of your site and your husband is right not to want to inflict them on your neighbours.

Put it where you want, if they wanted privacy pay the price tag and go live in the country, alternatively tell them to grow a hedge.

Put it where you want

She already has.

if they wanted privacy pay the price tag and go live in the country, alternatively tell them to grow a hedge.

And hope that you never need their good will for anything in future. I certainly would feel like putting up a very prickly hedge though, except that they tend not to be fast-growing enough.
