Am I a Piss Head?

My DH has expressed concern at my alcohol consumption. I normally consume about 1 bottle of wine during the week and maybe have another at the weekend....Maybe two if I have stuff on both Fri/Sat, (which is unusual) DH consumes as much, probably more tbh judging by the size of his beer belly, however as he has pointed out..he is a man and can consume more with no ill effects..AIBU to think he is being a bit of a dick?

No, he's not being a bit of a dick, he's being a huge one.

Tell him to sort his own drinking out before he gets involved in yours. Then laugh at him for being a sexist arsehole.

To be perfectly honest I would be drunk constantly if I drank that much. But everyone has different tolerance. You are a big girl. I'm sure that you can be trusted to monitor your own wine consumption.

Sorry I’m reading this as you drink 2-3 bottles of wine per week?
More than I drink- but I’d not say that’s too excessive is it?

If you are saying 1-2 bottles a night I’d say yes!

Alcohol use can really creep up on you, but it sounds like you’re having a glass every other day during the week and 3 glasses or so one night in the weekend. Maybe cut down the bottle to just 2 glasses or so on the weekend night if you want to make a change.

Out of interest, how many alcoholic units does this equate to? is It more than the reccommended?

That's fine. He's being a bit of a dick. Unless you get rat arsed on your bottle of wine and do really stupid things can't see what his problem is.

A bottle of wine to yourself would make most people drunk wouldn't it? So if you're feeling the need to regularly be drunk 2/3 nights a week I'd say that's a problem. Probably not uncommon though as you can see from the replies so far.
And your dh doesn't have a leg to stand on criticising you if he drinks more!

It sounds as though you both need to look at your alcohol consumption. According to this website, both men and women should limit their regular drinking to 14 units weekly. A bottle of wine contains about 10 units, so, based on your figures, you are regularly drinking between 5 and 15 units more than that.

20-30 units a week is more than the gov recommended 14 units for a man/woman. Men don't get extra allowance. Count his units up!!

Goodness blue you seem fairly sheltered. I have never met anyone who thinks the potential of a bottle of wine 2 nights running equals alcoholic (you’re wrong btw)
