Longing to try this ... meant to have been launched this month ... well end of last... and available through Tesco's... but not my two, even though they show up on the Halo website!!!

Anyone had any? Is it just selling out super fast or never appearing in the first place?

And favourite flavours??

Haven't tried Halo, but Oppo is the same concept (low sugar/low carb/high protein) and is absolutely delish, could not believe it was low sugar/carb! They sell it in Sainsbos and the salted caramel is particularly lush.

Blackteadrinker77 · 02/02/2018 18:55

I love halo top, have 6 in the freezer as it was half price at Tesco two weeks ago.

blueberrypi27 · 02/02/2018 18:55

I tried it in Tesco before it got super popular. Oppo is very similar

Auspiciouspanda · 02/02/2018 18:56

I have al of them, they're delicious and I got them Tesco delivery

Cavender · 02/02/2018 18:57

I live in the US and they sell it in my local supermarket. It’s ok but not fantastic.

It doesn’t really taste like real ice cream.

TitsalinaBumSqoosh · 02/02/2018 18:57

They're nice to eat but the sweetener they use really hurts my teeth!

IvorHughJarrs · 02/02/2018 19:00

I managed to get the vanilla and the peanut butter in Tesco last week and they are both nice but there was none at all when I went today

I bought another brand called Breyers which looks similar, cookies and cream flavour , high protein and 350 calories per tub

Queentitansgo · 02/02/2018 19:10

I’ve had vanilla, mint and chocolate. Obviously I ate a tub per sitting. I wouldn’t pay full price though.

loveyouradvice · 02/02/2018 19:27

I tried Oppo for first time couple of weeks ago - chocolate hazelnut - was yum ... and they've always sold out of the Salted Caramel when I order on Waitrose! So guessing its popular.... Does seem to have rather more calories than Halo though so looking forward to comparing....

Im suspecting Oppo will be more delicious ... hence the extra calories.... but hoping Im wrong!

And is anybody tempted - like me, trying to lose those extra pounds - to eat a couple of tubs of ice-cream alongside salad and lean protein? Sounds like heaven to me ....

wibblywobblywoo · 02/02/2018 20:55

The Breyers ice cream is the same idea - their vanilla version is only 290 calories for the whole 500ml tub...... and it's got £2 off at Tesco at the mo.

Ollivander84 · 02/02/2018 20:59

Plus you can buy the fibre one choc brownie bars (90 cals), cut them in half and make an ice cream sandwich. You're welcome Grin

SilverySurfer · 02/02/2018 21:10

Hadn't heard of this so checked it out on the Tesco website and compared it with my normal ice cream.

Haagen Daz Vanilla Ingredients

Fresh Cream, Condensed Skimmed Milk, Sugar, Egg Yolk, Natural Vanilla Flavouring

HALO Vanilla Ingredients

Milk, Eggs, Sweetener (Erythritol), Dietary Fibre, Milk Protein Concentrate, Cream, Organic Cane Sugar, Emulsifier (Vegetable Glycerin), Vanilla Extract (1%), Vanilla Beans, Sea Salt, Organic Stabiliser (Carob Bean Gum, Guar Gum), Organic Sweetener (Steviol Glucosides (Stevia))

No idea what some of those ingredients are but I'll stick with Haagen Daz.

JeReviens · 02/02/2018 21:22

Ugh - Stevia - that shit tastes worse than saccharine - to me anyway!
I'd honestly rather go without than try to substitute with artifical sweetners which all taste disgusting to me

EfficiencyDeficiency · 02/02/2018 21:24

I joined slimming world last night and there was a massive discussion on this, apparently it's sold out " everywhere "

Must be popular here ( Liverpool )

I don't like ice cream so wasn't taking too much notice of the conversation but yeah it was definitely a hot topic of conversation Grin

FrankensteinsSister · 02/02/2018 21:31

I got it in Tesco. It’s glorious.

ItsMeUsername · 02/02/2018 21:42

It's amazing. It was half price in Tesco, managed to eat about 8 tubs of different flavours before it completely sold out everywhere! And I'm on a diet and have still been losing weight. Fab!

DarthNigel · 02/02/2018 21:49

Do jeeps banging on about this but it's been sold out on our two local Tesco's for weeks!

loveyouradvice · 03/02/2018 13:37

anyone know how to get hold of some??? !!!!

OP posts:
DarthNigel · 05/02/2018 14:52

I've just got some in Tesco. Annoyed as I know there is only room for one tub in my freezer and my natural choice would have been the peanut butter one, but dp doesn't like it so have had to go for vanilla. But even then there were only about four tubs left! Fiver a go! It had better be nice!!

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 05/02/2018 14:53

Sounds like an advert

happy2bhomely · 05/02/2018 14:56

I had the cinnamon roll one last week and it was very good. It is sweeter than ice cream so I had a quarter of the tub whereas I could quite easily eat a full tub of Haagen Daz Blush

HotelEuphoria · 05/02/2018 14:58

Halo sold out a week or two ago in Tesco everywhere because it was half price. It's now back to full price £5 and our Tesco in small boring town up north is fully restocked.

It's ok if you are on a diet.

If you are happy eating ice cream and the calories don't concern you it's shit.

DarthNigel · 06/02/2018 08:57

I think it's nice...you wouldn't obviously know it was a diet product from taste and as a person that likes ice cream it can only be a good thing for me. But a fiver is a log of dollars
