isseywithcats · 02/02/2018 18:07

chocolate is top always has been

FiveLittlePigs · 02/02/2018 18:08

It's a chocolate coating, not a base! Spongey bit, orangey jammy bit and chocolate coating. And I could eat a double pack without even thinking about it. Grin

Marmite27 · 02/02/2018 18:08

I agree LTB.

mumeeee · 02/02/2018 18:11

Chocalate part is the top

bilbodog · 02/02/2018 18:13

Obviously chocolate is the top - ltb

Kittenshoes · 02/02/2018 18:15

Does he also think a quiche is served pastry up? Or that a cake should be served with the icing underneath?!

mikeyssister · 02/02/2018 18:16

Leeds2 · 02/02/2018 18:17

Of course the chocolate part is the top!

bettytaghetti · 02/02/2018 18:17

Just what is wrong with the man!! Has he had some sort of head trauma? Definitely LTB!

Trailedanderror · 02/02/2018 18:19

Heathen!
Show him the picture on the box 🙄

Passmethecakeplease · 02/02/2018 18:19

McVities are wrong, wrong I tell you!!!!!

pepperminttaste · 02/02/2018 18:19

The fool!

bridgetreilly · 02/02/2018 18:21

Yes, but those are biscuits. Jaffa Cakes are cakes so it doesn't apply.

FuzzyCustard · 02/02/2018 18:23

Of course it's the top. If you put the Jaffa cake the other way up it would not be stable, owing to the variable thickness of the orangey bit.

DailyMailareDicks · 02/02/2018 18:25

Whilst my mind has been truly boggled by this, it actually makes sense. Our tastebuds are on our tongues, so we don't taste as much of the chocolate if we eat sponge side down.

Scientific tests need to be conducted of course: my theory, my trial. I'll let you know the results after a minimum of 100 Jaffa cakes. I'll take this one for the team!Grin

MerryMarigold · 02/02/2018 18:27

Top. But then again, it's also on the top of Chocolate digestives. I mean who would put those on a plate with the biscuit-side up. Bizarre. For starters you need to know if they are plain chocolate or milk chocolate I'd rather not get fat for those.

AlmostAJillSandwich · 02/02/2018 18:29

It clearly on the bottom!

TheWhiteSheep · 02/02/2018 18:30

Ok. I'm on DP's side, I think the sponge is the top, because it's domed, and so perfect.

MerryMarigold · 02/02/2018 18:32

From the metro article:

Kerry Owens, McVitie’s Marketing Director, told metro.co.uk: ‘When we make our McVitie’s chocolate biscuits – whether that be Chocolate Hobnobs, Chocolate Digestives, or even Jaffa Cakes – they go through a reservoir of chocolate on the production line. ‘This essentially “enrobes” the bottom in chocolate – so we can confirm that the chocolate is officially on the bottom of the biscuits.

Loads of things are made bottom up and then served turned over (Terrines, some patisserie). THAT IS NOT A GOOD REASON MCVITIE IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FOOD.

SwarmOfCats · 02/02/2018 18:37

Congratulations- you get my first ever LTB. He’s clearly unstable and can’t be trusted.

BonnesVacances · 02/02/2018 18:39

Are they upside down in the packaging then? Confused

TheWhiteSheep · 02/02/2018 18:40

Well- with chocolate digestives, they have writing on the top so the chocolate is obviously on the bottom Confused

bettytaghetti · 02/02/2018 18:42

BonnesVacances They never last long enough for me to work that out Grin
