To think this would look tacky in a hallway?

I'm 50/50 on it. I love it, but does it look tacky?

We live in a 20 year old house with a proper staircase, not like the one in the pic.

I see why it appeals to you and it is your house to decorate as you like.

Just no. Evocative of the country blue hearts and dried (dead) flower wreathed of the 80s and the writing font decor of the past few years that has just thankfully passed its saturation point.

Also, it would look to me like a person on the stairs at night and scare me. Creepy. Not a big Banksy fan. Some of the images are nice like this one though. So I see why you are thinking about it.

I think a large stick on mural of a nature scene or some other scene might work in a playroom type setting and a smaller one would work in a child’s room. That’s about it.

It doesn’t exist in isolation, it’s a bit of your whole house so how does it fit into the whole thing?

This is like me wanting opinions on a dress based solely on a pic of my waist.

I wouldn't have it as it's a bit young/gimmicky for me but if you like it, go for it.

IDK, it's a bit 'Pennywise/It' for me with the red balloon.

But I'm sure I have lots of things that bring me great joy in my house that others would say were naff/tacky. Fuck 'em. I'm not selling tickets for a home tour any time soon.

I'm not a fan myself, but have to agree with those that say if it makes you happy then do it. I'm a big believer in decorating your home so it feels homely to you and contains things that make you happy and sod what anyone else thinks.

The fact that you are asking about it being "tacky" though, makes me think that maybe you would never actually be 100% happy with it anyway?

Do you know what? I've always said "if you love it, it'll work" and I think it's true... Follow your feelings!

It's only a sticker. Do it if you like it and then if you change your mind just take it down.

It's all very well to say If you love it that's all that matters but OP clearly wants to gauge popular opinion and wants people visiting her house to admire her mural rather than thinking "that's a bit tacky".

That said, it's fairly divisive I think. Something you either love or hate. You have to decide if you love it and accept that others might hate it.

I love Banksy, but there's a time and place for everything.

You need to decide if your hall in the near future is the time and place for this sticker. I wouldn't but also would t care if someone evened had it in their house.

It's a bit student house for my liking, and definitely not tasteful. It's also a bit dated. But each to their own, and if you like it that's all that matters.

Well considering Iv just looked at my room after reading this thread and counted 5 skulls 3 turtles various butterflies and an alien which I am almost positive that 99.9% of people on this thread would hate but definitely not think tacky my opinion is make your home what you love and no one else's opinion matters
