To be fuming about this cf parking at nursery!

So we have 2 car parks at our nursery where my two kids go, along with plenty of on road parking. The nursery car park which they own (the other is a public car park directly across the road) has a narrow entrance and about 7 spaces. We normally park in there as you don't have to cross the road.

We have had our eldest there for over 3 years and never had any problems with parking.

A new family have started their 2 kids a few weeks ago. They drop off as soon as nursery opens at 7.30 and the mum takes the kids in while the dad stays in the car with the engine running.

For the 4th time in 2 weeks today, the DH was sitting in the entrance to the car park with engine running waiting for his wife to come out. I was stuck on the road, unable to get in.

The first couple of times I shrugged it off but today I was absolutely furious! That anger has stayed with me all day, grrrr!

Cf at its finest.

honk your horn and tell the fucker to move

mumpoints · 02/02/2018 17:42

Does he realise?

StealthNinjaMum · 02/02/2018 17:43

Can you do a diagram please?

Pompom42 · 02/02/2018 17:44

I would not be letting him get away with that

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 02/02/2018 17:44

Do you mean he was blocking access to/from the car park? I'd have beeped the horn and/or asked him to move. He's probably of the "I'll only be a minute so it's ok" type. At which point you tell him that doesn't make it ok, and it's still inconveniencing everyone else

blackteasplease · 02/02/2018 17:45

I would ask the nursery to have a word with him if I had my sensible hat on as people who are so cheeky are often v rude.

In real life id probably sound the horn repeatedly until he moved!

Evelynismycatsformerspyname · 02/02/2018 17:45

YANBU to find that annoying. Perhaps ask nursery to ask people not to block the entrance to the carpark! Speak to the manager not keyworker.

I remember being annoyed by people who blocked two spaces (usually men too Important and in too much of a Hurry to park properly, or women dropping one child off in a tank sized vehicle) and with the people who would leave their car in the car park and chat for half an hour, then cross the road to the shop, before finally freeing up the space). We also had a small carpark right next to the preschool and a huge sports club/ village shop one over the road. Getting across the road used to get my hackles up when I had 3 small children to cross with and spaces on the other side were needlessly hogged.

YOU are a CF for posting a parking thread with no diagram Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 02/02/2018 17:46

Hardly worth being furious about. In future gesture for him to move Confused

Moregilmoregirls · 02/02/2018 17:57

I'd have blared my horn till he moved his ass

Bobbybobbins · 02/02/2018 18:58

I did gesture for him to move. He took ages to as he waited gor his wife to get back to and get in the car. God forbid she should walk an extra 2 metres! As it was the 4th time I feel my anger was justified.

I have now spoken to the nursery manager who said she would speak to them (though I offered to myself) but I will deffo honk my horn if it happens again.

To answer a pp there were at least 3 spaces they were blocking past their enormous car.

They seem to think they are the only ones in a rush!

I once arrived st nursery to find a car park slap bang in the middle of the very small tight car park. Not in a space at all. Everyone was annoyed and confused as no one knew it was. Was there for hours before one of the neighbours apparently turned up looking sheepish. Apparently they'd dumped it there while moving their bins and forgotten all about it

SharronNeedles · 02/02/2018 19:17

Just block him. Start driving into the carpark and sit nose to nose. Then just shrug when he gets pissed off

SoozeyHoozey · 02/02/2018 19:23

Great diagram! He is definitely a cheeky fucker!

StealthNinjaMum · 02/02/2018 19:59

I can't see a diagram.
