Does anyone know where it's filmed?

Did Topsy and Tim's mum ever have the baby? I saw an episode where they finished school for the holidays and she was heavily pregnant, but I never saw her have the baby.

Freaking out why i can hear them. Oh wait dc1 is playing on the app. I love this thread Grin. Might contact BBC to see if they plan any more episodes.

GailLondon · 02/02/2018 14:51

The girl who plays Topsy
is now 13 in real life and also voices coco in bing!

Crazy8 · 02/02/2018 15:02

Ok, ok, ok!!!! Since when did the books turn into a real life programme?

Please tell me what channel and when?

I still recall the book where the twins were dressed in the heir pyjyand then were out int he car from their beds. They went on the sleeper train to Scotland I believe. Ever since then I've wanted to take go to Scotland on a sleeper train.

Doctordid · 02/02/2018 15:15

The kids who played Topsy and Tim are now 11 and 13 I think.

So would have been 8 and 6ish
Topsy looks much much older in the later ones.

PurplePotatoes · 02/02/2018 15:27

The dad is played by someone called Chris Hannon, he is the Dame in the local pantomime ever year round here and is really good!
I read once its Topsy's bun things that are fake not her fringe.
I dont mind watching it actually but their house is such a shit tip I'm always looking at that rather than what's going on!

Woollypinksocks · 02/02/2018 15:42

Ooh thank you! That's made my day.

@GailLondon well I also hate bing! So this makes sense (sorry poor 13 year old girl)

This blogger visited the set...

OhPuddleducks · 03/02/2018 19:29

We’re on our second round of T&T. DD loved it when it first came on and now after a lovely, lengthy break from them DS has just discovered them. I think it is a generally accepted fact that Joy is high as a kite in order not to lose her cookies with the twins. I actually feel sorry for her. Not only does she have to deal with T&T all the live long day while Brian twats about with minibuses, she has the MIL from hell.

KalaLaka · 03/02/2018 19:31

crazy8 if you've enjoyed the books, do not watch it. It'll kill it for you. The parents are insanely annoying.

Bringonspring · 03/02/2018 19:35

This has made me chuckle no end!!

dingdongdigeridoo · 03/02/2018 19:38

Grandma is definitely MIL from hell. I can imagine her doing something really passive aggressive like letting herself in while they’re on holiday and redecorating the house.

Long shot, but does anyone know where Tim got his guinea pig pyjamas from? I think he also has guinea pig bed covers which are really cute. My son would love them.

sobeyondthehills · 03/02/2018 19:42

I heard that when the storyline with Mossy (the dog) died there was a massive blacklash and they decided not to film anymore

Fustyoldcarcass · 03/02/2018 19:42

I've never seen the one with her pregnant. I always assumed that if you cut the mother open there would be circuit boards and electronics under her skin. She seems a bit android like to me.The entire programme isn't really an accurate portrayal of real life, but I suppose it isn't meant to be. I really can't stand the programme for that reason, but my DC likes it.

daisypond · 03/02/2018 19:43

I don't think they'll make another. I must have read it somewhere, but the BBC were wanting fewer progs based around an idealised suburban middle-class family, and instead more realistic stuff based around different types of families - like Apple Tree House, set on an inner city estate.

Woollypinksocks · 03/02/2018 20:08

I like Apple tree house, don't think it's particularly realistic though. Probably more representative than Topsy and Tim.

We keep thinkmong we’ve missed the one with the new babY. I can’t cope with the Mum after seeing her as the psycho lesbian in casualty.

TheFormidableMrsC · 03/02/2018 20:39

I can't BEAR Topsy & Tim. DS loves them. Can you imagine saying hello to somebody and addressing them as "DIY Derek"? Also, those twins were at least 34 when they were in nursery.

feellikeanalien · 03/02/2018 20:48

My DD has just looked at the blogger's daughter visiting the set and out came her favourite phrase, "it's not fair!"

ElizabethG81 · 03/02/2018 21:25

My DTs LOVE it and I've watched far more episodes than I'd like. I agree that Joy must be on drugs to stay as calm as she does when they're pissing about breaking her vases, putting eggs in the airing cupboard and refusing to get dressed while playing Hansel and Gretel on their first day at school. I watch it and just think "I'd have completely lost my shit by now".

I think even my DTs have picked up on the fact that they were clearly about 8 years old on their first day at school, they had a few puzzled looks during that episode.

Papergirl1968 · 03/02/2018 21:53

Dd, aged 13, still likes to watch the occasional episode. She’s rather immature but still...it’s Love Island one day, and Topsy and Tim the next.
And yes, I’ve been asked “Why can’t you be more like their mum?”
Aagghh!

Jodi80 · 03/02/2018 21:55

If you look on YouTube on CBeebies for grown ups, there are lots of behind the scenes videos that will answer some of your questions.
