Just got an email from Wish called "I will never by boots anywhere else again"

I've replied *buy

I'm not the spelling police and I don't generally pull people up on it as my fingers are as fat as the next person's but surely someone should be checking emails going out from big companies like this? It just doesn't look professional to me and makes me wonder what other mistakes they'd make...

I'm sure they were mortified the second they pressed send. I've done it myself. People are only human.

SilverySurfer · 01/02/2018 15:54

Well you obviously are the spelling police on this occasion. I do understand how irritating it is. I normally check my posts on here two or three times for typos and ensuring it makes sense before pressing send but I broke my own rule earlier and posted without checking - then noticed two typos which has really annoyed me. I sometimes read a post with lots of typos and wonder why people don't read before posting.

We need Edit MNHQ!

It's got you sharing it though - no such thing as bad advertising and all that

House4 · 01/02/2018 15:56

Oh no the poor employee who sent that out ☹️

LidoDeck · 01/02/2018 16:00

SO many companies do this. I've seen 'your' written incorrectly on Ch4 a couple of times before which made me so angry lol!

Bluelady · 01/02/2018 16:04

It's probably some poor bloody unpaid intern they're exploiting.

KimmySchmidt1 · 01/02/2018 16:10

Drives me mad - I don’t expect everyone to be fucking literate but I do expect people to know their limits and get a literate person to proof read their drafting before it gets published to thousands of recipients.

A huge bus stop campaign by JDSports recently spelled ‘forest’ as ‘forrest’ - thick as pig shit!

Ooh, good point saltandvinegar - wonder if it was deliberate? Smile

Nah, it's too banal a typo for that. That's just a 'I've already written this email in 7 different ways for 7 different types of customer and I can no longer feel my fingertips' job.

SilverySurfer · 01/02/2018 17:20

Just have to be grateful it wasn't chester draws which I understand is a popular misspelling on FB and Gumtree etc.Grin
