lighthearted but, seriously, this last winter has been an absolute shocker! 🙄

YANBU.

That, or wear one yourself at all times, as I plan to.

Currently in bed with rotten stomach bug. Thanks, DD1.

As long as you set up a decontamination booth in the porch, it should work.

iklboo · 30/01/2018 16:58

And sheep dip them for good measure. Grin

Waffles80 · 30/01/2018 16:59

Porch a bit close to house. AIBU to set up decontamination unit / sheep dip in shed?

LoopyLou1981 · 30/01/2018 17:11

waffles80 sorry you got it too. I seem to avoided most of it but dh has obviously caught all of it (but his is far far worse 🙄) so I’ve currently got a 3rd ‘child’ to deal with!x

Tell me about it. My son has been off more than in this academic year.

School keeps sending "don't send them in with temperatures" mails so I presume that some parents are doing just that. :(

divadee · 30/01/2018 17:19

I am so with you on this one. My youngest started nursery in September at 8.5 months we have so far had just 4 weekends where she hasn't been ill. And of course we have all come down with it. I am on my third tummy bug of the winter. Confused

Wakeuptortoise · 30/01/2018 17:20

Yanbu, but it was actually dh who brought januarys bout of flu home from his disgusting colleague. December's virus was from nursery though. Both have lasted a whole month!

FlaviaAlbia · 30/01/2018 17:20

Seems reasonable. Maybe you could set up one of those body scanning temperature stations they use in airports outside nursery?

I used to dread one particular child who was sent in no matter what and seemed to stay long enough to pass it around.

Stickaforkinimdone · 30/01/2018 17:22

Goodness me not unreasonable one tiny bit; all children are revolting little germ factories. Mine included.

LoopyLou1981 · 30/01/2018 17:30

It’s only through my Mum and PILs doing me massive favours that I haven’t lost half of my annual leave before the end January. 😕

I work in a nursery and I need to start wearing one of these, I have seriously thought about going to work with a surgical mask!

SimplyNigella · 30/01/2018 17:32

I’m with you. High doses of Sambucol and a daily probiotic seem to have helped but it could just be fluke.

AlwaysDancing1234 · 30/01/2018 17:35

Love the sheep dip idea! Grin
Kids have been a tag team of snotty colds, coughs, tummy upsets etc. and then work colleague comes in to work the other day announcing loudly she’s been up all night with sickness and tummy upset and high temp - well don’t fuckin come in being a martyr and breathe on me!!!!
