To ask for specific miscarriage causes after a heartbeat?

I’ve just had it confirmed that at 8 weeks, my baby has died. Again. I had two scans at 6 weeks that confirmed a heartbeat. Everything looked fine.

This exact same thing happened in the summer. Heartbeat at 6 weeks, gone at 8 weeks. They said both times it happened just before 7 weeks.

I also had two CPs in between these two.

I have one DS who is two, and am due to have tests for why this is happening. But does anyone know any specific causes? Because it seems suspicious that it has happened at exactly the same time, after a heartbeat.

Thank you

Cat - I’d have thought that progesterone needed to be taken from the moment of conception to have been of any use. I had the injections (daily delight of DH stabbing me in the backside with the biggest needle ever) and took them until 12 weeks.

Firstly huge love to you. It’s just horrible I know.

The reason I happened to me (HB at 8 weeks MC at 11) was due to my thyroid levels not being right. Xxx

I asked for progesterone as soon as I knew I was pregnant but no one would prescribe it. Ended up paying £700 to go private, and they would only give it me after 6 weeks.

Waste of time seeing as my baby died a week later anyway.

Thank you all for the comments.

I was supposed to go and get medical management today, instead I broke down at home and refused to go in. I can’t do it again, I don’t want to go through it again. Last time I “gave birth” to a complete sack and it was horrific. Blood everywhere and like a horror movie, and I still had to have a D&C.

I honestly would rather die than have to do that again.

For me it was because of a blood clotting disorder

I second possibly getting tested for natural killer cells. Think you have to go private.

My SIL tried for a baby for 4 years, 3 rounds of IVF, 3 miscarriages, then tested for killer cells, discovered that's what it was.

Final round of IVF with a frozen embryo and they now have a baby daughter. Sorry for your losses, I've been there, it's tough.

I enquired about NK cells because I was looking into getting that tested if it happened again. It is private but the success of the treatment, if you’re found to have them, seems good.

So sorry. Ask for an ERPC and genetic testing - that's what we did after the same happened to us.

Ours had a trisomy disorder that meant it wouldn't have got past 12 weeks but was happily alive until 8 weeks. It may be the same for you
