Wilburissomepig · 29/01/2018 21:44

Can I be in your gang too? Love love love it! x

TheGhostsOfPresidentsYetToCome · 29/01/2018 22:37

You’re all welcome. I made my boyfriend watch the workshop and he said “yeah, it’s good”. No! I need effusiveness. I need gushing. I need someone to be brimming over with joy just watching them like I am.

I may have to LTB.

Proper obsessed.
Went to the Singalong in London on Sat, got dressed up as a Bearded Lady, Michael Gracey came out to introduce it then went to the pub came home and danced round mate's living room singing the soundtrack. Still buzzing.
No hope for me and my ladies!

Yeaididthat · 29/01/2018 22:49

Also obsessed

Itsanewme · 29/01/2018 22:56

I’m obsessed here too. Play it in the car. I’ve seen the movie twice.

Njcr · 29/01/2018 23:23

Me too! I usually have musicals playing when I'm doing housework anyway, but this has been on repeat since I saw the film a week ago. I also made my boyfriend listen to the whole soundtrack when we got home from the pub on Saturday night. Not sure he approved...

dancinfeet · 29/01/2018 23:25

Haven't listened to the whole soundtrack or seen the film yet, but have just started a dance with my students to The Greatest Show and we are loving it!

NightCzar · 30/01/2018 08:04

We also have it blaring out here. It's summer so all the doors are open and the poor neighbours.

Who is next to Hugh in the This is Me workshop? Love that. Thanks ghost

bruffin · 30/01/2018 08:12

Im not keen on rap but the rap in Hamilton is very singable.
Liked the Greatest Showman but no more than LaLa Land. It was like a string of music videos really.
Gatehouse77

That sounds like our house 😀

StickThatInYourPipe · 30/01/2018 08:14

YOU ARE NOT UNREASONABLE!

Best soundtrack and the best movie omg I love it! No swearing, no Sex, just a great film you can watch with anyone!

gabsdot · 30/01/2018 20:39

Check out this lovely version of A Million dreams.
One of the singers is a friend of mine.

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 30/01/2018 22:55

I watched the workshop links before bed last night and I was crying. They were so beautiful. :)

KatyMac · 03/02/2018 23:14

I saw the film today - I loved it!

I'm taking DH to see it asap (hopefully tomorrow)

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 03/02/2018 23:21

YANBU! I’ve seen it 8 times in the cinema now and that’s still not enough! It’s the best film I’ve ever seen.

RunningOutOfCharge · 03/02/2018 23:38

What makes it so great? ( I agree btw)

But what is it we are all liking so much?

Songs?
Actors?
Storyline?
Choreography?

What's making it so special?

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 04/02/2018 01:12

I think each of those elements was so perfect in and of themselves that when they came together they’re just incredible.

HidingFromTheWorld · 04/02/2018 01:21

I sobbed through this at the cinema a few weeks ago (v emotional atm) and my daughter has been playing the soundtrack ever since.

She’s going to use ‘This is me’ as the basis for her English GCSE talk as it really struck a chord with her given the battles she’s faced over the last 16 years.

Bloody brilliant film. Adore the music.

kmc1111 · 04/02/2018 01:25

I'm really surprised by all the love. I found it kind of painful to listen to and watch. The music is so overproduced and auto-tuned, which is weird because almost none of the performers involved need the 'help'. The film had the same problems. So much bad dubbing and cheap CGI, which I might have been able to see past if the story wasn't so thin.

viques · 04/02/2018 01:27

hi, haven't read through but noticed that a local cinema is doing a Greatest Showman singalong screening soon, I imagine other cinemas will be too.

NightCzar · 04/02/2018 05:42

What's making it so special?

Hugh

losingmymindiam · 04/02/2018 06:05

OMG watched it yesterday and love it so much! My sons do too and we have had the soundtrack on repeat all weekend! Love love love it.

Darcydashwood · 04/02/2018 06:48

Saw it on Friday night and loved it! Still have the songs in my head and think like a previous poster the cd is finally going to replace Hamilton in my car where it's been for a year!

Re Hamilton, yes the primary musical styles is rap/hip hop but there's so many more musical styles and influences in there which is its genius. From r&b to swing, 'classic' musical theatre to jazz..it's got everything! Saw it last month and booked tickets again when more went on sale the other day, it is that good.

Wouldn't be surprised if The Greatest Showman was adapted for Broadway. Imagine if they got the cast to do it! Hugh would i reckon!

RunningOutOfCharge · 04/02/2018 13:37

First time I've really noticed Hugh Jackman!!!

Yes, he's quite...Er, nice!

spanieleyes · 04/02/2018 14:06

Watched it at the cinema yesterday, the audience clapped and cheered at the end!
