My boss told my sister I'm pregnant

Have NC for this as it's potentially very outing.

I told my work about my pregnancy before my family (work knew before Christmas, as I spent a lot of time off with bad morning sickness).
I work in a small office with my boss and 3 others. They all knew I hadn't told family yet.

As a second job I do a few shifts a week in my local, which is also Boss's local and how I met her to get this job originally. My little sister occasionally does shifts here too when she's back in town on a break from Uni.

So finally told family yesterday, had wanted to wait until after the first scan so did with the exception of work knowing.

Called my little sister to tell her, only to discover my boss had drunkenly mentioned it to her weeks ago at the pub.

AIBU to be absolutely furious and a little disheartened?
My family didn't exactly find out in the best circumstances when I was pregnant with DD, now I thought I had a second chance to tell them all properly.

Theres obviously nothing I can do about it now, whats done is done, and there's no taking it back. I just wish I could have told her on my own terms, not my boss's.
Also, if she has told my sister, who else has she told? This is my news to tell, not hers.

Oh dear. That’s terrible. Totally understandable for you to be furious.

I’d be having a formal word with the boss and ask them to explain how they came to disclose a confidential piece of business related information to the barmaid at their local. I’m sure their manager would be interested to hear that and question what else they are blabbing to all and sundry.

Does your boss know/remember that she told your sister? As you mentioned she was drunk. If she doesn't, she could have told more people and forgotten. I'd feel let down and annoyed if I were you.

I feel so let down. Very annoyed to, as was excited to tell my sister but she'd already known for a month! I doubt boss remembers.

Having any formal involvement is tricky here.
One of my other colleagues is one of the Boss's best friends so anything that goes formal tends to be made public quickly.
For example, we used to have a guy here who took time off for stress, and spoke to HR about a few things. We all knew everything that had happened. No privacy.
